Just got them suckers out and my mouth hurts like mad. Any tips for shortening the healing process?

I got mine out two years ago.

I got lucky. My face didn't swell up at all.

I did make some random drugged up calls after the procedure though. haha

Haha, God, I hope my face doesn't swell when I get mine pulled.

I got mine (all four) done a couple years ago and it didn't hurt that bad...I went for a Sub right after the operation. Just rinse well

I just got my twelve year molars in, and some of my baby teeth arent gone yet, I highly doubt I'll get my wisdom teeth until I have kids.

I had my wisdom teeth removed a couple years ago. Apparently I fainted twice while I was on medication.

Back in December 2006 I got mine out. I only had 3, though. It was weird; I'm a freak, I guess. I didn't have to use any pain meds, nor did I swell up. Within a week I was eating pizza rolls. I was just super cautious with what I ate 'cause I was afraid it'd start to hurt. It was the 20th, so Christmas dinner kinda sucked.
But I'd suggest icing your cheeks. They have these nifty ice pack things for your face that goes all around your head. But why buy it when you can just make one?

Hah I had the exact same experience as you I was mostly eating normal in like 4-5 days, I only had three teeth and one of them was like a retarded half tooth, and I didn't really need my painkillers.

Wait what age is average age for this kind of thing?

16-20 seems to be normal.

I was 17. I know people who got it sooner than that, and I know people who are still getting it while they're 20+ years of age. I know my mom didn't get hers out until she was mid twenties.

My mom had 8 wisdom teeth. Some genetic fuckup caused her twice the pain.

Thanks for the input guys. Lol I passed out right after I posted it, I'm on a painkiller called...Lortab I think, teeth haven't been bothering me much since then. I see this as an opportunity to try new and exotic puddings...

I got mine out with 16 and at the doctors they had some awesome injection all i remember that before the operation I couldn't stop laughing.

And not eating for 1 weeks is quite confiniant, I lost like 5kg. But yeah, I was on a lot of painkillers.

Mine on the bottom right is coming in and it sucks. I can barely chew on that side most of the time.

My technique for dealing with wisdom teeth went as follows (and it worked pretty well):

Take extra painkillers near the beginning of the process, and don't do anything retarded. Dry socket, I've heard, is one of the most painful things in the entire universe. Otherwise, just drink water and keep your mouth clean.

Don't spew... there's holes in your mouth and y'know...they fill up and stuff. Not pretty. I was in bed for a week after I got mine out...that said I am allergic to codeine which I only found out afterwards.

My top 2 are in. They never gave me any problems. As for my bottom two, they still haven't broke through. I have no room for them, but no health insurance.

I should have had them removed when I was in high school...

Well, its the next morning, I haven't taken any painkillers any today, and my mouth has been in more pain after a good flossing. Rock on Dr. Miyaji...

I'm hoping mine won't come in. I've already had to get teeth removed (baby teeth, so it wasn't a big deal but still no fun) and I don't really want to do it again.

Pretty much just take the medication, ice it, don't eat, and if you can drink a lot of water to clean your mouth out.
