We are Hollywood Ave.

We hail from New Jersey...where we don't pump gas...we pump iron. Well not us specifically...but this guy we know. Our town is called Fairfield...but there doesn't seem to be any fields...and even if they were they probably would be incredibly unfair.

There are four gentleman in the band. Two of them are named John and they both play guitar. One is little and one is big. We do NOT refer to them as Little John and Big John. What do you think this is? Robin Hood? Grow up. The other two members are me (Hi i'm rob and i play bass and sing) and Tim (incredible drummer...incredible lover).

you can check out our tunes at www.myspace.com/hollywoodave (http://www.myspace.com/hollywoodave). (Isn't it incredible how awful, unintuitive, ugly, buggy, and annoying myspace is? And yet we continue to use it. ugh). We put out a record a couple years ago called Poseidon's Piano. It's a conceptual album about love, loss, and redemption. Subject matter includes: leaving alone, destroying monsters, oceans and their ends, candles, and possibly daggers. maybe. (definitely). I would describe us as melodic, poppy rock that's just a little different than what most bands are doing. We have two singers, lots of riffs, lots of harmonies, and Tim rips more fills than...punxatawny phil.

I thought you guys were okay until...

"Shadowstar floats alone in the vast ocean, plagued with fear and doubt, missing the one he holds closest. As resentment begins to set in, and love begins to decay, a distant sound reaches his ear. A foreign music breathes new life into him. He swims along with a new-found hope for what lies ahead. This music is Poseidon's Piano."

a bit corny perhaps, but from the heart sir! regardless, i've been meaning to take that down for a while. replaced it with a brief bio. thanks for the feedback...even though it was barely constructive.

Haha yeah sorry I guess that wasn't too constructive. Just took another listen. I gotta say you guys sound pretty professional for an unsigned band. I mean it's not my particular brand of music, but I could see you guys definitely getting bigger...whatever that means exactly.

Oh and whoever does your T shirt design is great dude. The yellow one with the giraffes is sick. I don't even listen to you guys but I want that shirt. Haha keep at it guys, you've definitley got potential.

Oh and good change on the About Me. I just realized by reading it that your last album was called Poseidon's Piano...so that previous About Me makes more sense now.

hahaha well thanks for the kind words! cool of you to be able to give props even though you're not into the genre. some people are very close minded. thanks for breaking the mold.

yeah the little blurb we had in the About Me was actually from our liner notes in the album. it wasn't like completely outta the blue. haha.

ps - i live like 20 minutes from westfield. i'm from fairfield. gotta love those 'Fields.
