Sinister Aristocrats

At what point do capitalism and corruption intersect?
At what point do free markets and exploitation become synonymous?

Sinister aristocrats
Build luxurious castles and extravagant kingdoms
Upon the backs of broken and bleeding workers
Who they pretend to care about

Prosperity doesn't trickle down
It accumulates at the top
Misery doesn't accumulate at the top
It floods down, washing away hopes and dreams

Corrupt politicians are mercenaries for Corporate America
Paid to assasinate any form of regulation
That stand in the way of unbridled greed
Through the economic rape of common men and women

Sinister aristocrats are hungry wolves in sheep's clothing
Disguised they speak of opportunity and prosperity
Secretly they salivate at the mouth
Longing to sink their greedy teeth
Into unsuspecting flesh
And taste the profit

At what point will we finally wake up?
At what point will we finally stand united against the wolves?

Everything about this, from the topic to the devices used to describe the topic, has been done before. I think you need to reevaluate the way you're saying what you want to say so that you might present it to your readers in a new way. The "I HATE CAPITALISM THEY ARE RAPING US" shtick is somewhat tired. Can you lash out against capitalism in a different, more original way?

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about that before I wrote this, and I agree that this is a topic that has been covered many many times. Certainly Rage Against the Machine, Immortal Technique, and Anti-Flag have all said it better than I ever could, to name a few. However, I think some things just need to be said directly, even if the originality is lacking. I do appreciate your feedback, it is always detailed and constructive, so I appreciate you taking the time to read and critique my poetry. Hope all is well.
