View Full Version : I Can't Believe This Hasn't Been Done: PS3 or XBOX 360

I'm not a huge gamer-- in fact, I rarely play video games at all anymore. However, I am looking into getting a new system for my apartment, having had PS2 for several years.
Frankly, I am more familiar with the Playstation setup and have hardly ever played on XBOX. However, I am seeing that a PS3 will likely cost me $200+ more on initial purchase. I am stoked to play the new UFC Undisputed game and that is my driving reason for wanting a new system. I have played 360 a couple times and have played PS3 once: such limited exposure hasn't helped.
So, experienced gamers, what is the best investment?

Got to go with the 360. I just really enjoy the setup of it a lot more. Sony doesn't have any exclusives that I want. xBox has Halo 3. I just think the xbox is a far more enjoyable system. And since you don't play often, I think it would be a better investment due to the fact that there are more games and what not.

360 simply for the controller.
360 because I get off on achievements.

PS3 on hardware alone. I work customer service at Best Buy. For every 1 PS3 i see come back, I must get at least 50 360s (no exaggeration).
If High Def is a deciding factor in your purchase, then PS3 offers Blu Ray capability which is the shiz. PS3 has just as many exclusive titles worth buying a system for(Metal Gear, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Killzone, Uncharted), and i personally think online play for PS3 is superior, but i get that i might be in the minority on that one.

Most likely. I rarely have a good experience w/ my Ps3 online.
As for exclusives you will have a good experience on both. The Ps3 controller is fairly horrendous, the online is "iffy" but the blu-ray is sweet.
I have both, and to be honest most of the time the Ps3 collects dust.

i would have agreed with you a year ago, but MGS4, COD4, Resistance 2 & Killzone 2 online have consumed my life. they're incredible
I'd play my PS3 online a whole lot more if the wireless card in the console wasn't absolute shit. Our wireless router is in my room, but when I have my 360 downstairs with the adapter it plays fine. The PS3 can't even stay connected long enough to download a system update. I'd love to try Killzone and LBP online too.

you know i completely forgot about how dissatisfied i was with the wi-fi connection. i ended up running a network cable from my router to the system. good call there.

Weird. I've never had a problem with the wireless on the PS3. My router is up on a different floor, too, and it works fine. The only problems I've ever had are because of the router itself.

Both systems are great. I'd rather have a PS3 though.
