There's one where I live. Aiden was going to come, but I guess loads of people wanted tickets so they moved it to Winston-Salem. It's called The Sound Vent. And then we have Amos' in Charlotte. http://www.amossouthend.com/

Growing up in Charlotte, nearly every good show was at Tremont Music Hall. Since management changed (ie sucks) there now, a lot of tours have stopped in Amos' instead. There is also a small place called The Milestone...not sure if that is still open. Also Neighborhood Theater gets some stuff once in awhile.

Charlotte sure isn't what it used to be for shows though. Used to get a lot more, and a lot more quality.

Yes, it is or was a big manufacturing site for smokes.
Winston-Salem is about at 2hrs. from Charlotte.
There are good shows at Amous Southend, Tremont still has a few good shows and the larger venues like Verizon (warped tour) and downtown, can't remember names of coliseum, have had FOB and others. Look on 106.5 fm website. They cover Charlotte music scene pretty well.
Keep your eye on Greene Street Club in Greensboro, its 1-1/2 hrs from Charlotte and will have a decent number of bands in our genre.

The Soundvent is in Thomasville, not Winston.

Yeah, Greene Street and Amos' are probably the best venues around here for good shows.

Charlotte: Tremont Music Hall, Amos' South End, Lunchbox Records, The Milestone, Neighborhood Theater
Greensboro: Greene Street
Raleigh: The Brewery, Lincoln Theater, Memorial Auditorium, Disco Rodeo
Chapel Hill: Cat's Cradle, Local 506,
Thomasville: The Soundvent
Winston: Ziggy's(is this still around?), Club Oasis
Wilmington: The Soapbox
Asheville: The Orange Peel
Burlington: The Raven
Wilson: The Luna Bean
Columbia(SC): New Brookland Tavern
Spartanburg(SC): Ground Zero

edit: those are just all the "major" venues in those cities. I could name plenty more smaller joints and houses that get/used to get awesome shows but that is prob a little overload for now haha. The sad thing is I could also name just as many decent venues in NC that were open but closed within the past 10 years that I've attended/played at as well. This is all making me feel so old :( haha

and a note on those SC venues is that they are both <1.5 hours from Charlotte so its closer than some of the NC locations.

Yeah, I'm aware. I said that the show was going to be here in Thomasville, but they changed it to Winston-Salem. Get it?

Apologies. I misread your post.

Yeah, I think Ziggy's is still around. I don't ever hear much about shows there anymore, though.
I'm actually going to the Brewery for the first time in a couple of weeks to see The Dillinger Escape Plan.

The Neighborhood Theatre is the coolest out of the bunch, if you ask me. The whole NoDa area is amazing. Consider it a tiny slice of Asheville in Charlotte.

Ah word, I'll be there too. Played there probably 50+ times over the last 6 years hahah. We might open that specific show but I'm not sure if we're going to be able to work it out now with some pre-recording stuff we have that weekend. Either way I'll be there though.
