i hate to say it, but the ringer and wedding crashers were two of the better comedies of 2005, with 40 year-old virgin being the best. please explain what you didnt like about these two movies (esp. wedding crashers) as im too lazy to look back at your reviews.

Wedding Crashers - Bad casting, stale characters (owen and Vince are getting stuck in "those" roles), Childish unfunny plot.

The ringer - everything was bad, acting, plot, punchlines, premise, just everything.

You must be on crack if you didn't find wedding crashers funny. Granted, It wasen't as good as 40YOV, but it was still hilarious. Vince Vaughn is great in that movie.

Wedding Crashers was one of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time...Vince Vaughn's line deliveries are always right on point in this movie.

40 yr old virgin was also funny just not as funny to me as WC.

I'm not a fan of broadway at all.

So i'll never see it.

Did you like it? Judging by your sig you did....

Oh and Vaughn plays the same character in every film he's in these days.

It's really getting old.

Slade even if you don't like broadway check out the producers...just give it a chance...

I hated musicals for the longest time and when I saw the producers on broadway...i started to like them (well some of them).

Its the first movie where will ferrell actually acts like a character instead of will ferrell..

Will Ferrell ruined Wedding Crashers (although I still enjoyed the movie as a whole)

Most comedians do, because, how many ways can you play a comedian?

Adam Sandler, Will Ferrel, Jim Carey, Vince, etc all basically played the same rolls, because its funny.

Even if you didn't like Wedding Crashers, how could you possibly consider it one of the two worst movies of 2005? You have to think that there must be worse movies and comedies released last year.

I really enjoyed Wedding Crashers though I agree with you that Vince Vaughn has basically played the same character in every movie he's in nowadays. However, I love the guy and found myself enjoying him cause his delivery was just hilarious. I also have a soft spot for Owen Wilson.

The Ringer was a throwaway comedy that only had one memorable line: When the fuck did we get ice cream? But overall it wasn't terrible in my opinion, just utterly forgettable. And there were worse movies this year: Dark Water, Red Eye, House of Wax and I know horror movies are easy to pick on but none of those were remotely entertaining whereas at least The Ringer made me smile.

The only reason I stayed was in hopes that there would be some ridiculous bloodbath at the end. Alas, there was not.

It was funny because we saw it the night it came out with a bunch of ghetto people in the theater and we all get out and they're like..."More like Bullshit Creek!"

Highlight of the night.

I'd say worst movie of the year was easily the Transporter 2. Most disappointing/overrated was definitely A History of Violence. There was a good amount of desperately bad movies this year, and a lot of movies that were also painfully boring. Kinda a rough year for movies, maybe in comparison to last year when Eternal Sunshine, Garden State and I Heart Huckabees were just wonderful.

I just watched Wolf Creek and I thought it was great. It felt like Blair Witch meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre, without the chainsaw and in Austrailia to me. The way the characters are introduced and then played on screen, some of the excellent shots, the unusual way it was written (Killing the leading lady first? You never see that in Hollywood horrors).

Granted, it wasn't the best slasher flick ever. But with what you were given, a potential of 3 victims, and a high probability that at least 1 will survive, I think they made a great movie. Easily one of the best horror movies of late thanks to a slur of remakes and sequels. Nice to see something that wasn't nicked from Japan too.

The movie was horrible, but I still would defend Vaughn in it. It's the closest he's gotten lately to how he was in Swingers and Made. I'd buy Wedding Crashers just to see him even though it's my pick for worst movie of the year. Weird huh, haha.

nah...dirty love was the worst film of the year.

i can understand the ringer. it was wretched. don't waste your money. the retard gag could only go so long...

Wedding Crashers i loved. i mean...i loved it...to each his own. i don't see it close to being the worst film or most dissapointing. i thought the cast was pitch perfect(the whole gay little bro artist thing was kind of lame) but the humor was sharp, and it's just so charming. it has its faults, but it was certainly better than i expected. it was anything i didn't think it was going to be.

Vince Vaughn is great at what he does. fast talking dry humor. he's proven he can tread water, and i don't hold it against him and many other comedians of his genre that are cast on a stereotype and personality.

Wedding Crashers was okay. I was really stoned when I saw it, so my opinion isn't valid.

True Story.

Wedding Crashers had one of the worst endings I have seen this year, completely devoid of humor. Vince Vaughn has some good lines, but thats about it, the plot was mediocre at best and the rest of the actors were terrible. I mean, even Christopher Walken's novelty wore off as the movie wore on.

Not the worst, but not a very good comedy as a whole, especially when, within the same genre of comedy, 40 year old virgin managed to stay largely mature with a subject they could have put hundreds of stupid virgin jokes in.

Bewitched and Dukes of Hazard i saw on the same night back to back at a drive in. I wanted to drive into the screen to kill myself. If Will Ferrell ever picks a movie like that again, I hope he gets shot. And Johnny Knoxville proved that even Jackass is above his acting level.

Star Wars Episode III was beautiful.
Any dialogue involving Hayden Christiansen should have been cut from the film if they wanted it to be a great movie. I LOVE Natalie Portman, but Lucas' inability to write dialogue almost killed her, and in the first death scene that she's done (that I know of) I just laughed it was so bad. His love dialogue was so cliched and unbelievable that I wanted the hurt him. Watch the scene on the balcony between Hayden and Natalie, it states my point for me.

It was good, but far from one of the better films this year

I agree, even a standout movie like Crash had it's flaws that held it back. Likewise with Syriana. It seemed very much like the music this year, excellent when you see/hear it, but ultimately forgettable after the year is over.

Although I liked wedding crashers, if someone else says "motorboat" and does the action i'm going to shoot them.
Haha, that is a clutch line though. That and "Ma, the meatloaf, fuck!" are just awesome lines from that movie. Too bad it lacked the plot and supporting acting to make it good
