I love this cd, I got it in august (it was released in the UK a while ago) and it is one of my albums of the year.
What a voice, and brilliant structures

Phenominal album, phenominal artist - she put a second morgage on her flat to finance the production of Speak For Yourself - definately check this out if you haven't already :)

I think that the album has its gems, but by and large it is a little too much "chick rock" for me. I like her darker songs like Hide and Seek, Psychobabble (FF) and Let Go (FF).

great, grat pop album. i was really bummed when she dropped off the Tori Amos tour b/c she hadn't yet gotten U.S. distribution. i'm glad she's finally getting more U.S. notice (since the Frou Frou 'boom' was pretty much after the album had been out for a couple of years).
this album is awesome. 'goodnight and go' is pretty sweet

Hahaha it's a woman, by the way. Why is an indie artist like Imogen a guilty pleasure? A pop act? I'm very suprised to hear some things in this thread.

I don't know, not pop. Electronica? Songs like Hide and Seek are the exact opposite of pop to me. Half of it could be considered pop I guess, but certain songs just prevent me from labeling it "pop." Especially since pop stands for popular, which is something I wasn't aware this artist was.

And indie is mean to stand for independant but that's just not the case anymore really. So your arguement is flawed

True, genres are stupid anyways. But would you honestly consider this a "pop" record? I'd consider something like this closer to The Faint than I would Justin Timberlake.

Just because it has electro elements doesn't make it not pop. Killers? P!ATD?
And I would call Cartel pop, but they aren't popular...

Please tell me you are honestly not comparing the Killers and P!AtD, two completely guitar driven bands, to Imogen Heap, which is more than predominantly electronica.
