As Frank reported last week, The Militia Group has signed The Holy Fire (http://www.theholyfireband.com). Below is the official press release:
Detroit, MI. – Edgy, aggressive indie rock act The Holy Fire, described by Detroit Metrotimes as "In between Afghan Whigs murder epics and Jeff Buckley melodrama,” sign with independent label The Militia Group. Drawing forth angular, driving rhythms, accompanied by passion and melody, The Holy Fire are quickened by improvisation, anti-social vigor, beauty, and even paranoia. The Holy Fire recently toured with The Constantines, and have also played with fellow enigmatic indie rockers Mclusky and TV On The Radio.
The Holy Fire team up with The Militia Group with future plans to add a full-length to their catalogue of recordings, which now consists of two rousing EP’s. The Holy Fire’s latest, and overwhelmingly unopposed EP “In the Name of the World” will be nationally released on February 21st via The Militia Group. “In the Name of the World” was produced by Flaming Lips bassist Michael Ivins.
“With echoes of British Sea Power, Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate, early U2, and even Big Country, Motor City quartet The Holy Fire have crafted a visceral and desolate EP that’s as bloody-sleeved passionate as it is post-rock chilly.” – All Music Guide
“A must see.” – New York Press
“4 out of 5” – Alternative Press
The Holy Fire exists as: Sean Hoen (vocals, guitar), Nick Marko (drums), Nathan Miller (bass)
