Cadillac was the right (and only?) choice. Not sure I agree with Merriman, he received all of his praise for the Indy game.

And just for the hell of it...

shoot. I really wanted Tatupu to win DROY. He's played absolutely incredible for the hawks this year, and he's calling the shots as a rookie MLB on the field.

Merriman was just crazy this year though. Tatupu did play well, Ill give ya that.

his game log isn't exceptionally impressive except for the Indy game.

merriman, thurman or tatupu could have all won it and had a decent argument to support it.

good year for defensive rookies.

i'm glad merriman won. i think he had the biggest impact on the field, from what i saw.

i agree with both of these choices, although tatupu was impressive

I didn't see enough of Merriman to grade fairly, but based on what Tatupu did for Seattle's D this year, it's hard to see how anyone could beat him. He made some huge plays and ran the D as a rookie. But, like I said, I didn't really see Merriman play so I can't say he didn't deserve it.

Odell Thurman was robbed.

I agree.

They did get it right with the OROY however. There was really no one else that was a possible choice.

Did Tatupu make the Pro Bowl? Im not rubbing it in, I just dont feel like checking. Merriman led the rookies in sacks which probably helped a lot in both getting the honors of DOY and Pro Bowler. If Marty f'n played him on 3rd down he would have had better stats too.

he also had about half the amount of tackles at tatupu, and merriman had no INTs. Tatupu had 3.

The INTs I cant argue other than Merriman is used as a pass rusher more than coverage and that he wasnt used on 3rd down anyway. The tackles, well he didnt start until a little before half way through the season, if that.

The media just helped a lot too. Seattle doesnt have respect from most of the country in my mind.

not to mention tatupu called all the defensive audibles and ran the entire defense...as a rookie.

Heath Miller got one vote, that's cool. He would have had more if he didn't have to stay in and block so much later in the season. The TD's stopped after that.

so a guy who wasn't a starter the whole year, or used on 3rd down is better than an every down LB, who called defensive audibles, had double the amount of tackles, and started the whole season?

Am I the only one that this doesn't make sense to?

Tatupu should have one.

He just did a whole lot when he was actually in the game. More of an IMPACT that Tatupu I guess. I cant attack Tatupu because I didnt watch him, though I was aware of him. But with the more I hear about what he did, I understand your argument more.

Cadillac was a no brainer...

I think Tatupu should have won... Or Thurman. But Merriman did have a great year (coughlike3gamescough).
