It's also referenced in the Anathallo song "Don't Kid Yourself, You Need a Physician"

"From seven times seventy scraping knees, bloodlets, deficiencies... I have found a way"

The whole forgiveness meaning kinda makes sence cause aint the song supposed to be about Jesse and John Nolan's big fall out? I'd go with that over the Anathallo song, but wouldn't rule it out, I don't know what these guys listen to.
Who knew Brand New were dropping biblical refrences....

I think it's funny that the song title could possibly mean forgiving and what not and the lyrics mention having someone's "head go through the windshield". Haha. Oh, that Jesse.

I know sum1 already said this but I feel the need to repeat it and further explain it all... Jesse/Brand New used Seventy times Seven as the title cause of the fact that Jesse's gf cheated on him with John Nolan (former TBS/ current Straylight Run), and as a result the song Seventy Times Seven was written pretty much having the title meaning "forgiveness." Cause lets face it Brand New chooses to make their titles crafty. In response to Seventy Times Seven, TBS/John Nolan wrote There's No I In Team, hence the whole identical "is that what you call tact" lines in both songs.

I know most of you knew all about this already, but for whoever doesn't now you've gained a little more knowledge...

now they're all anti- Adam Lazarra, cause he cheated on Michelle Nolan, and he still sings songs that have nothing to do with him and are more about Nolan and Lacey...

70 x 7 ALWAYS comes up in my theology class..and everytime it does I sort of laugh and no one understands why.

When I had to take my test to get my learners permit, the alst question was how many times are you more likely to crash when driving intoxicated. I picked 7 times based on the pure gamble that the Brand New song 70 x 7 referances it, glad it was right. If I missed it I would have failed.

Wow- just realized this was my 150th post.

Haha, I remember my friends wondering what it meant in 2001.

I had been raised Catholic, so I knew, but it was funny to see the uproar about people trying to figure it out :P

I had to sing a song in my Christian school chorus entitled Seventy Times Seven.

forgive how God has forgiven you
that's what it's all about!"
