So Baltimore has a growing pop rock scene with bands like Adelphi (http://www.myspace.com/adelphi) (Drive Thru Records), Thin Dark Line (http://www.myspace.com/thindarkline) (One Eleven Records), The Track Record (http://www.myspace.com/thetrackrecord) (Drive Thru Records / Rushmore), All Time Low (http://www.myspace.com/alltimelow) (Unsigned). Now, you can add one more band that has been gaining a ton of attention: Boy Crazy (http://www.myspace.com/boycrazymusic). Check out the press release regarding a DVD and a few tour dates:
Those interested can visit www.myspace.com/boycrazymusic (http://www.myspace.com/boycrazymusic) to view a video preview of the EP/DVD which has created quite a stir within the local and national music community.
The band is gearing up for the release of their debut EP, Whale Songs to Kensington Garden. “It basically tells the story of finding personal success in an unconventional fashion. We’ve been told time and time again that a band without a singer won’t draw, but we’ve been proving everyone wrong,” says Jordan. “A lot of focus is going into the artwork to help guide the story were trying to tell.” The release will also come with a DVD featuring live performances, music videos, and personal footage. “We want everyone to see who we are on and off stage. Our personalities and friendships with fans and other bands are just as important to Boy Crazy as the music is. This is bigger than a band.”

This band is a fun live band in a weird way. I don't really know how to explain it, they're just, interesting.

EMR does a deal that once you have sold out all of your records you have the oppurtunity to seperate from the label.

what the fuck ever happened to adelphi?? they were hyped when they signed to drive thru, released "Attention" on every drive thru sampler, released that disgrace of an EP, and now it seems theyve fallen off the face of the earth.

My band Fire In The Hole (http://www.purevolume.com/fireinthehole) is also from Baltimore. We used to play with all time low and adelphi alot but kind of dissapeared for like a year. We are finally heading into the studio again, somewhere we havnt been for a while, to track 12 new songs. If you feel like checking out our old stuff visit the link above. Our new stuff sounds completely different so check back in about a month for some new stuff.

Boy Crazy have no singer. Isn't that important to a pop-rock band that is releasing an EP and DVD?

There's been other great bands from Baltimore/Annapolis that have been around forever...
Don't forget A Perfect Kiss, Elenor (if they're still together? Doesn't matter, check them out anyway), and Karmella's Game!

Unfortunately, Elenor broke up. They're a great bunch of guys. First show we played with them, they randomly brought techno music and started to do a live pre-playing dance/stretch workout haha.

The only band mentioned in this entire thread worth talking about is Zella Mayzell. They are gonna sign big in 2006.
They one the Alternative Press readers poll for top 10 best unsigned bands in America. That is noteriety beyond MD.

Being from Baltimore, I agree it does have some decent bands coming up . But definately my favorites have to be Zella Mayzell and A Perfect Kiss, whom my band (This Year Passed) has played with before and are quite an expierience to see live. Also, kind of a random question but does anyone have extra Academy Is tickets to 9:30? I went to Sri Lanka to visit my uncle and when I came back they were already sold out.
