he is a great qb i wish him the best luck in the pros. i wish the niners could have gotten him:'(
fuck the combine, i don't care where he goes in the draft, he will be a better quarterback in the nfl than vince young.
what has the combine ever done? make akili smith a top 5 draft pick?

the only thing I worry about Leinart is that he has such a great team surrounding him that I don't know if he will do well with a pour team and pour offensive line. I mean what QB wouldn't be good with Bush and White as your RB's.

the nfl combine just creates hype for players with "intangibles." and guess what, players hyped because of the combine, mostly quarterbacks, usually suck. kyle boller, akili smith

yeah but if other teams are more scared of your running game, that opens up your passing game more. anyone who knows football knows that.
Leinart and Young will both be mediocre quarterbacks.
leinart will immediately be a top 5 quarterback next year.
who knows what young will even do in the nfl, but, he'll be better than vick, which is more than mediocre.

well, i think you mean poor. but, leinart played in a very pro-style offense and who knows how good white and bush would have been without such a great quarterback leading them?
leinart is smart, a good leader, great accuracy, strong arm. i don't see how he could not succeed in the nfl. he'll be better than carson palmer quicker.

ok, but like I said, he wouldn't have been half as good without the running game that USC had. also their offensive line is amazing as well. Young has more mobility to avoid sacks then Leinart does.
ummm...next year a top 5 QB...doubtful. Manning wasn't even a top 5 QB his first season.
i dare you to give me more than 4 quarterbacks that will be better than leinart next year. i seriously think he will be the best rookie quarterback ever. he'll be coming into the league so mature with a very nfl style offense under his belt.

too bad his very pro style defense couldn't defeat even Texas. let's see Manning, Brady, Culpepper, McNabb, Plummer, E. Manning, Hasselbeck, will all be better. Hell even Vick will probably do better then Leinart next season.

yeah but he is neither Manning nor Brady. Plus he'll probably go to the Saints who have a bad offensive line, I don't think he will do very well under pressure.
better quarterbacks next year than matt leinart:
tom brady, peyton manning, carson palmer, donovan mcnabb
maybe trent green and ben roethlisberger

no, he sucked ass this season. last season he still had randy moss. in seven games he had 12 ints and only 6 tds, a 72 quarterback rating. the only thing he's proven since moss left is that he sucks.

Leinart will be a good pro.
And the whole Culpepper thing, I don't think you can count on him next year to be the player he was two years ago.
1. No Randy Moss to just huck the ball up to
2. He didn't just "get hurt" he tore every damn ligament in his knee. For some people that's an 18 month injury or something insane like that. So it's not like he just sprained his knee.

Leinart played his heart out this entire season. The end of the USC-ND game is something I'll never forget. I think his protection broke down tonight and he was forced to throw quick passes all night. He never really got a chance to make a big difference.
If Young does indeed come out, and the Saints take him at #2 ahead of Leinart (likely, since Benson wants nothing to do with winning), then Leinart would be matched up with his old playcaller Norm Chow at Tennesee. That, I would love to see (although he'd sit a year behind McNair).

sFor anyone who is saying he won't be as good because of the team surrounding him. That is dumb. You can't make a good team in College Football and a Good Team in NFL comparison. It's different. You are playing against constant college all star teams as an NFL player. Against all guys who were the top maybe 1-4 guys on their team usually. It is just a different game so to say that he won't do as good without that team, you can't make that assumption
As for the combine what will they tell us that we don't already know? He isn't that fast? No shit. He hurt his elbow but is 100% now. He has a good throwing motion and the problems he has with it are fixable. He is solid in the pocket. He has good accuracy and a solid arm. I'm sure the NFL IQ test or whatever they give him he'll grade highly on. So what else? The Combine is for unproven guys and athletic guys.
I don't know how people can doubt him. He has led a great team for 3 years. Has made huge plays. Has led that team to 2 national championships, won the heisman, and was in the heisman voting 2 other years. He has great stats. He is well liked despite the press on his team. Why won't the guy be good? Fuck he has better college credentials then Peyton Manning. So why won't he be good?
As for Cullpepper he'll end up on Arizona with Denny Green and he can toss it up to Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Johnson and he'll have an emerging RB in JJ Arrington.

If Young is on the Saints or the Titans that's great, because then I never have to think about him again. He can just sort of fade into the background and I can move on from being annoyed with running qbs.
I really hope that Leinart doesn't go to either of those teams though. I REALLY want to see him succeed next year. I normally don't feel that way about all these big hype players, but I sincerely like leinart.

Leinart should start for the Jets and take them to the playoffs. That'd be fucking badass.
