like on the last tour and how they had boys night out there - it was so lame having to sit through their set.

this tour is going to bomb on the secondary market.
the venues are too big, and everybody and their mom will be trying to make a buck off of FOB. that will lead to flooded markets and undercutting idiots.
i'm a professional broker, and i'm not even touching this tour.

Thats what I thought about the nintendo fusion tour, same venue (tsongas arena, lowell, ma) Tickets were going for $65-75 a piece. Hell, its not the biggest chunk of change, but multiply that by 15-20 tickets, its not too bad. By the way, what do you mean by PRO broker, im not trying to be a dick, but I have my license for MA/CT, and was wondering if that was all that you meant by pro.

Haha, yeah me too (for the academy show). I didnt plan on reselling tickets for that tour (in hartford, ct, didnt even think it would sell more than 600 tix). When i saw it had sold out, and people were scrambling for tickets, i sold mine off at a little over 4x face. gotta pay the bills somehow.

This happened at the last Minnesota TAI show as well. No one thought it would sell out, but it did, and everyone didn't ticketmaster it were all over the place looking for spare tickets.

thats the only thing that I like about tickets.com over ticketmaster, tickets.com will show you how many seats have been sold for a particular show (as long as its GA), while ticketmaster just tells you if you can buy a certain amount of tickets.

i think those bands combined will sell it.
i mean fob is ridiculously popular now, AAR has been mainstream for awhile, and HH is pretty mainstream now too, so itll definitely bring in a shit load of kids.
im not the biggest fan of any band, i do love the new fall out boy record even tho every1 seems to bash it, its a ridiculously good poprock album. but hey its on mtv right guys, so"fuck fall out boy" right.

there is a tour map thingy at fob's site.
there is like a whole other world there: rules. points.prize.hidden icons. photos.
sounds cool though.
it also says:
"We are releasing a few tour dates at a time. They'll appear on this here map as soon as they are released, so check back daily! "
so that is why there is a weird set of dates out now.
i was stoked because for some reason corona, ca is on the map.
that is weird. but cool. all at once.
i think it just has to do with the zoom setting it is at....but still.

Yeah i know, these places are huge, and yeah, since the nintendo fusion tour people will probably only buy to make a buck, which will oversaturate the market. But shit, it's fall out boy, the new fans are absolutley crazy and even more fanatic than the mcr fans a year ago. Tickets for panic and academy is has been sold for 120+ bucks, granted, those were small venues, but they're still small bands. And check this out, i sold some nintendo fusion tickets right away when they were released, which caused some people to panic and someone actually payed 500$ for 4 tickets, when there were loads left.
It's FOB, this tour and the next will sell out in a few weeks after the release of the tickets.
Hell, I've even sold a dozen dillinger tickets for 80 bucks each.

no shit.... do you think they just magically all got together because the members are all best friends from high school? you see the music industry tries to make this stuff called money, and with that money they promote bands (and pocket the other 90%). if you honestly think ANYTHING that has to do with money is for the "music" you have a lot of disappointment ahead of you. fall out boy didnt get signed to island because they make good music, they got signed because island knew that if they got fall out boy on mtv they would make a shit load of money - and they were right.

BOYS NIGHT OUT are about 100x more talented then FOB, thats one of the only things i can stand about fall out boy, sometimes they help out good bands like bno and silverstein
BNO completely stole the show in Toronto with FOB. I don't know what you're talking about man.
I just can't justify spending over 60 CND to see FOB when I once payed 12 dollars. And if 50 Cent didn't fill the venue where they're playing, I can't wait to see the size of this place. Just under 10,000..Hurrah!

Hell, I've even sold a dozen dillinger tickets for 80 bucks each.
I'm a sophomore in college, and I do ticket brokering full time. And yes, I do survive on it - I pay the bills and live pretty nicely.
I know exactly how much the fusion tour sold for - i made over $4000 on it. but dude, c'mon - that tour was played at irving plaza and the 930 club, clubs that hold less than 2,000 people. this tour is playing at places like the patriot center in fairfax, which holds almost 10,000. these bands might be popular, but they're not that popular. add in the fact that everybody will be buying tickets, and people who don't know what the fuck they're doing will dump their tickets off right away to make a quick 15 dollars.
I'll be willing to bet you right now, this tour will NOT make you enough money to be worth your time. Well, maybe ONE or TWO or the dates. But the entire tour as a whole is going to bomb on the secondary market - just take a glance at Fall Out Boy's Q101 show in Chicago in December. Everybody saw how much money was to be made on this band, and jumped on the bandwagon. Tickets sold for an average of 20 bucks over face value/ticket. Garbage.
And I'm well aware about the academy is tour - I've already sold 4 to Irving Plaza for 300, 6 to SF for 450, 10 to DC for 660, etc, etc, etc. But comparing TAI tour or even the fushion tour to this latest FOB tour, where the veneus are all GA and hold 5x as many people - is insane.
Mark my words - with the exception of a few stops, the spring fall out boy tour will not make you enough money to be worth anybody's time. Let the undercutting begin!
Boys Night Out and Motion City Soundtrack were worth the Nintendo Fusion Tour.
This.. this is worth nothing. So much garbage. FOB are by far the best band on this bill, though that's not saying too much really.

I think what you say is partly true...although FOB does make good music. To alot of people, its the meaning behind the music that makes it good, whereas to others that same music sounds like indie trash. Then you have another group that hears the music first, then the message/passion/whatever you wanna call it....
Me...I hear the music first with FOB, and I'm sorry, but the guys are good. it doesn't matter if they're on MTV or not, they do good music in a time ruled by fakes (lindsey lohan, britney spears, avril lavigne...you get my point.) personally...I think it's refreshing to see bands like FOB and MCR on TRL (whoa...too many abbreviations!!)...its just one step closer to stealing back our culture form this fucking rap/hip hop/pop shit cage.
go FOB!! (and I didn't mean to dis anyone out there in the first category of music lovers....i'm that way with alot of bands too....I was just stating a fact/making a point....)

I'm pretty sure the dates listed on this site a few weeks ago were correct or pretty close but Fall Out Boy had them removed so they could keep you waiting with just a few random venues being announced at a time. As for Cougar im pretty sure they are playing the Tacoma Dome on March 25th so Portland should be the day after or before that. For the ticket brokers im sure the xbox 360 tour is the one to make money on and not this one. Fall Out Boy played or was suppose to play the Premier in Seattle which holds like 2,000 and now the Tacoma Dome at like what 14,000 that is just nuts. I guess Green Day sold it out but that was Green Day and Fallout Boy arent on that level.

notes on black clouds and underdogs - see also: cast all your fears away:
1. tickets will not be 50 dollars. haters are spreading this on the internet. if you buy your ticket ahead of time (not through some wack broker or on ebay or from a scalper)- average ticket price will be between 23-28 dollars - not going over 35 anywhere. we picked the venues based on how cheap we could get them.
2. the bands- we didn't want to have a tour where you had to see five bands that sounded exactly like fob. we went for variety. all of the bands are really nice guys as well. there will be special guests through out the tour and some suprises to make each show more exciting.
3. this is going to be fob's biggest show ever. we will be playing our longest set and will be including some special secrets.
4. did you expect us to just dump the dates in your laps? we are nerdy and weird and different. so we created a game. we thought it would be fun. the points will be weighted so a small town will have the same chance as a huge city to win a small suprise show. we want to play in front of kids that are excited and we know this is a chance to do this. there will still be other secret shows randomly happening.
5. close your eyes and just click. youve got it. dont worry just come out. andy will be running a kissing booth - it will be a blast.
more later.

Thank you for totally misinterpreting my post.
I didn't say shit about the nintendo fusion tour except that i sold the tickets for 5 times the price when there were loads left. I wasn't talking about every stop obviously, but there will still be a few select ones that is going to make me alot of cash, seeing as you and many other people will either not do it at all or just get random dates.
There will be some smaller dates on this tour with 5000 capacity, that's where i'll pick my punch.
I've been dealing with arena tours for many years and the smaller dates on this one will go for an extra 150-200 bucks immideatly when they're sold out. I'll put my bank account on it.
But yeah, your point still stays, but it's pretty damn obvious and you don't need a college education to figure that out.
