it's because of the whole Jon-Benet Ramsey fiasco. she was that child pageant star that was mysteriously murdered a few years back. i say mysteriously because her parents will never admit they did it. either way it's tragic and that is why i mentioned River Phoenix before. Fenix TX were known as RiverFenix and were forced to change their name because of the negative connotations. so in a similar case, it strikes me as odd that so far this band has been allowed (and rightfully) to keep their current name.

they've been criticised alot for it, but it's a beautiful name that no one in the US is ever going to name their kid if people don't get over it.
i think i even remember one of them saying in person that they had no intention of the ramseys when they made up the name. i could be wrong, and he could be lying. either way, great band from a great town.
