I've been hearing a ton about this kid, Jonathan Krohn. CPAC, Cnn, Fox, it goes on and on. I personally think he is annoying as hell. Any thoughts on him?

Young conservatives don't scare me. They'll probably get more liberal as time goes by anyway. And it's not as if teenage conservatives now will have much political clout when those of us who grew up during the Bush years reach the age where we'll be taking part in government. Damn run-on sentences.

Also, as said before, he will never get laid.

I think I called him a wedgie-magnet last time. If there's anything out there where he's speaking intelligently and rationally about important issues, I'd be happy to listen. All I've seen up to this point is him talking about the great principles of conservatism, which is what every Republican who fashions themself after Reagan does.

I don't think the kid is old enough to have a legitimate political view. 90% of kids that age just absorb their parents' politics and reasoning.

Besides I'm willing to be that he's not even in the top 90th percentile in intelligence for 14 year olds.

Great speaker though.

I wouldn't say that being 14 means your opinion isn't valid, but I would argue that he isn't old enough to be voicing his opinion on C-SPAN. He has a lot of growing up to do (don't mean this in a condescending way) before he projects his views onto people.

I'm not being condescending, but the average 14 year old doesn't know enough about world politics, cultures, economics, etc. to have a fully developed political stance.

Yeah I agree with you 100%. I have the feeling this particular 14 year old probably doesn't know quite enough to have a fully developed stance but if he wrote a whole book about it, he definitley knows quite a bit, even if his views are misguided.

Based off? Great assumption supported by your lack of appreciation for republicans.

Had this kid been liberal he would be getting praise from this site but alas, he disagrees with many, including mine, political stances so therefore hes an idiot. Congrats AP, unbiased bashings for the lulz.

I'm just wondering if I'm not watching the same video as everyone else.

He said how the Republican Party is simply the vessel of the policy conceptions of the movement/ideology, which is conservatism and then defined what conservatism is, based on four basic tenets. He got across a lot in three minutes.

Yeah but anybody who simply follows politics at any age in any capacity knows that. I don't mean to sound like a condescending douchebag, but I knew that at fourteen and I don't believe that I am anything special when it comes to political knowledge. He knows more about politics than the average teen but if he's going to be writing a book for public criticism, speaking at CPAC, and generally putting himself out there in the adult world at this age, he's going to have to be judged by adult standards and I don't think he makes the cut.

In all honesty, I've heard similar rhetoric out of Limbaugh. He makes the case all the time that the conservative movement is much bigger than the party and that's generally how he refers to himself(as a conservative, not a republican).

He impressed me, and does seem very intelligent, but we will see where his future leads, if he is only in for the 15 minutes of fame, or maybe he is the future. What if he is a fake? And this whole thing is just a big scandal type thing, like he was rehearsed on all that, and the book really was not written by him? Just a pondering thought haha.

basically what i was thinking.

in all seriousness though, this kid seems like a classic case of being raised in a home where opposing viewpoints were never presented, religion was used like a threat to get him to think so fanatically about politics and whatnot, and where liberals were seen as satan on earth. IMO.
