According to ESPN's Joe Schaad, Maurice Drew entered the draft today. This is a huge hit to any chance UCLA had at capturing the Pac-10 in what may be an off year for USC.
I haven't seen much in terms of projections for Drew. Anybody know where he's expected to go? It must be Round 1 or 2 or I doubt he'd come out early.

He won't be going first or second round. Probably third. He isn't that proven yet.

so then he's pretty stupid for doing this. he'd be a star at UCLA next year and improve his draft stock ...but he's taking the money at the first chance he gets (even though it will be significantly less then if he stayed one more year).

Their could be a situation around it. Possibly family situation. That's why Devin Hester is coming out because his family needs the money. He would've had to have a monster year next year to be a 1st or 2nd Round pick anyway. Think of it this way DeAngelo Williams and Laurence Maroney are projected at the bottom of the first round. That says how far down some of the best RB's are being picked. Drew could go low 2nd round high 3rd round.

He didn't even break 1,000 yards last year.

yeah the family situation would make sense. I just hope this isnt a case of a kid going after the money because an agent told him he'll hit it big. I think another year and a weaker RB class would make him much more valuable in next year's draft.

I love this guy. Maybe Tennessee wants him...
you never know who's stock will rise in the combine. he could be projected top five after that ridiculous event.

He'd be a legit heisman canidate if he stays, but then again, he'll be a dangerous return man in the pros.
