Dumb move unless you trade Davis for a couple of starting OL, DL, and LB. Bush is a great talent, but they need to build a team! They probably just set themselves back at least another year.

as an organization they will get more publicity and interest because bush is on the team. i dont think its that bad of a move. if sf got the first pick id want them to take bush as well

yeah i understand the interest this will generate ...but they aren't going to win anytime soon. The novelty of Bush will wear off after one season and they'll be back to being a joke unless they fill their holes (just about every position besides qb,rb,wr). When it comes down to it, fans pay more to see a winner. Houston won't be that anytime soon.

Agreed. I mean that is great that you will have an explosive back, but it still does not help your QB who gets slaughtered every week because you dont have a line. This is a popular move with fans, but the wrong one. He will sell tickets though.

but if they pass on Bush, they will get a king's ransom in terms of draft picks this year. Those picks, along with their own, can fill multiple holes with talented players and they'll be that much closer to winning. More importantly, they'll have a foundation to build upon. Reggie Bush will probably make this 2-14 team a 3-13 team next year. Davis wasn't the problem with this team, so why are they trying to fix the RB position? It'll sell tickets for one season and thats it because they won't be any better.

They should trade down and take D'Brickashaw Fergusen and start rebuilding that O-Line.
But hey... you can't pass up Reggie Bush.

it's not a fuck dom davis situation though.
i don't understand people's thinking that you can't have bush and davis on the same roster.
they're two backs that will complement each other very well.
bush is the way to go. wow, i never thought i'd ever say those words.
bush should stay in school and then make the texans really think about a 1st pick

bush makes more since then young financially & based on the fact it would yet set us back again a few more years until we're serious playoff contenders.

Yeah, because it's not like Domanick Davis is one of only two legit weapons they have on that team.
Stupid, stupid move unless they get mammoth value for DD.

When he's healthy. And Reggie Bush can split out, return kicks, and run the ball. He's not just a running back.

FYI
most owners stance on things in the NFL
money>winning
Bush will bring money
end of story.

Reggie Bush isn't going to do shit behind that offensive line. This is a bad, BAD football decision.
Good for you, Bob McNair, you're going to line your pockets by selling more tickets. But you're going to be paying David Carr AND Reggie Bush #1 pick money, just to watch them get BLOWN THE FUCK UP behind the line of scrimmage all the time.
I don't care how good Reggie Bush could be, the Houston Texans do NOT need him. They have 18 starters out of 22 that just plain suck. (David Carr, Domanick Davis, Andre Johnson, Dunta Robinson) They need so many upgrades at so many positions, it's safe to say they're still at LEAST 2 years away from making a serious playoff run. So why waste your pick on a guy you don't need?

Bush will bring money, for one year.
Then the Houston fans, sick of 5 years of NOT WINNING, will stop paying MONEY to go see the games.

Exactly. They should trade down and take the God known as D'Brickashaw... and get some extra picks.

Bush will put up good numbers behind that line, as long as he's as good as people think. What they should do is trade the pick to someone that really wants Bush/Leinart/Young and get some linemen, and do something about the defense too. They couldn't stop the run this year.

I agree that Bush is a better RB to have than Davis, but they need to get value out of the Davis trade. They need multiple pick, like 2nd and 3rd round, even a late 1st, and teams knowing the Texans have to get rid of him won't give them that

exactly. whats the worst that can happen? he's not going to be a bust(and if he is, then you still have Davis), and if you let him go by trading out of the pick, the franchise will regret it and the fans will hate them for it. people will lose their jobs over it. that's why they can't let him go.

if Detroit Lions fans pack the stadium, i'm sure a Texas based team will always pack the stadium.
you draft reggie bush. end of story. whether it's for money or whether it's because you think he'll be the next barry sanders.
you draft reggie bush. then work from there.

they have a hard time selling tickets now. bush brings back excitement for one season and that'll be it after they finish 3-13 because they didnt fill any needs. the whole texas/football thing is a bunch of hype and nothing else ..they already left houston before because tickets werent being sold.

Bush has reportedly been assured he will be the #1 pick by Houston.
