Depending on the angle you're taking your paper at, you could probably throw in Girl Talk. While it isn't technically a covers project, you could pretty easily tie it in.

Delve into the Punk Goes [insert random word here like acoustic, pop, crunk, etc...] to get some decent ideas.

I really like the Drive-Thru Records Bob Dylan 2 CD cover album as well.

And Allister covering I Want It That Way from Backstreet Boys.

Haven't heard it yet. Do you like the HTL cover?

Yeah. It's been a while since I've listened to it, but I remember it being one of the stronger tracks on Punk Goes 90's. The Ergs cover is incredible though. Just go buy Hindsight is 20/20 My Friend. It also has a great cover of Linus and Lucy.

There's a search function at the top, right in between "Contact" and "Tools." That's usually the easiest way to find an existing thread about any given topic. I only linked to a few of the existing threads, but if you search on "covers" or "cover songs," you can find tons of good recomendations.
