I don't like when bands change the sound that made them famous in the first place...i loved New Medicines, but the newer stuff just isn't the same.

agreed.. new medicines in my opinion was filled more so much melodicness (if thats a word) and lyrics were well written.. the new stuff lack melody and its just so rough.. i know they are rough demos but still not put together well.. and like i said i will cut them a break only one member remains on this upcoming LP that was on the old.. and thats the singer..

thanks, me too. just to let people know, there will be some video interviews/studio footage posted with these guys in a few weeks on acclaimedpunk.com. I think those episodes will help explain their transformation a little bit better, but I think that when they get into the studio with sprinkle, they will blow you away with this record.

im sorry but i think it fuckin rocks man. everyone is tripping on a demo. Its a good sign of whats to come and the fact they are releasing these demo tracks for you to hear is very nice of them. Once Sprinkle gets his hands on, your going to not only hear a shitload more of clarity but the vocals will sound just like new medicines altho he sounds like he is trying new things with his melodies and the inflection of his notes. I think it fucking rocks.

Thanks for those who "get it." For those who don't, we hope that you realize that we care about screaming on our albums anymore...we don't really listen to that type of stuff. If we wanted to be a screamo band, then we'd do it. If we wanted to be totally Stone Temple Pilots, we'd do it (and I'd be stoked). We're writing the album that we want to, and appreciate so much the people who understand.
The new stuff definitely doesn't sound like Pillar..ha....
For those who don't dig what they're hearing, thanks for at least listening though. And definitely keep in mind that these ARE total demo clips, and that we hope to make an album that will blow everyone away. I think there are total elements of both DP albums, but there is a definite overtone of hard alt rock. The five clips we're releasing all have different vibes to them, so hopefully in a few weeks, everyone will have a better, fuller idea of what we're wanting to capture.
We've still got really big announcements about the new album that will hopefully excite all naysayers.
