View Full Version : NOPAWN Peace Concert Series needs Punk bands
The National Organization of People Against War Now (NOPAWN), a subsidiary of United for Peace and Justice (UPJ), is sponsoring a concert series to raise money for UPJ. UPJ has helped organize the massive peace protests in the United States over the last six months. You can find out more information at United for Peace (http://www.unitedforpeace.org/)
We have booked The State Theatre, 687 Central Avenue St. Petersburg, (727) 895 3045 on April 26th for the NOPAWN Peace Concert Series #1. We were wondering if you knew of any bands might be in the area on Saturday, April 26th and would be willing to play a peace benefit concert. We have very little we can pay. In fact, all the bands we’ve booked so far are willing to play gratis to help the cause, but we could possibly raise a little money. If you don’t know of a band available in April, we will be holding the NOPAWN Peace Concert Series #2 in late June.
This could be a very important gig. We must continue to bring attention to our opposition to the war in Iraq. The people in Florida are cowed by Governor Bush. They are frightened by the media scare tactics. Members of my organization have had Secret Service agents seize their hard drives. The only answer is to inspire the young to rise in rank and oppose this politically motivated slaughter.
Thank you for your time in reading this. Please help if you can.

Your telling this kid to get a life when he is trying to do something to support his cause, yet I am 110% positive that you have never once participated in any sort of political rally/protest/etc. and no those KKK marches don't count.
