They have a young team and weren't ranked to start the season, but this #2 ranking is beautiful.
I will be torn the day Florida and BC have to play each other in some college sport.

They will stay there until UConn or another team puts a string of games together, or they lose. They haven't had a cake-walk schedule, they played at Wake and home against Syracuse early and the Miami team they played showed they can be good. Also, all the easy games they had they won usually by 20+ points. Florida has done about the best they could so far, the only thing that would have lent them more legitimacy would have been a larger win over Wake or Cuse.
Villanova lost at home, so they deserve to drop. UConn should NOT be in the Top 5, that is a mistake. Losing by 15 to a team that is middle of the pack in the ACC is not something a Top 5 team should be doing.

That's what I like to see.
Huge gator fan here and since i got to school in colorado i never get to see them play. but espn had the full court free preview this weekend on the internet and i finally got to seem them play. I agree the last 4 or 5 years ever since they went to the national championship game the gators tend to get overrated and fall hard. But what i saw in this club was something different. They have really got the offense going. They no longer have the ball hogs of roberson and walsh. None of them are trying to pad their stats. They are playing as one of the best gator teams i have seen. By far the best gator passing team i have seen they find the open man with ease and they hit alot of bigtime shots. Didnt really pay attention with their defense because i was really surprised by how well they are actually playing on offense. So thats a weakness in my statement.

It's deserving, but i don't think it'll last long.
Because on Jan. 11th Duke is playing Maryland, the team that can beat them and Florida plays Mississippi State which is an easy win for them. They may be #1 soon.

I would agree with you, except that it is a home game for Duke. Cameron is the hardest court to play on as an away team, I mean the crowd's nickname is the "crazies". Maryland will beat them at Maryland, but not on the 11th.

I dont think if Duke loses Florida goes to #1 anyways, even if they are undefeated. Why? Because Duke's already beat 4 or 5 (don't remember the last count) top 25 teams.

Should be a good game. I want Duke to fucking crush them though ...

I agree. I don't know why, but i've always been the biggest Duke fan. Plus, they need some revenge from last year.

The Gators deserve #2. They've beaten everyone they're supposed to and climbed the rankings while other teams choked. The Gators have a legit shot at finishing undefeated considering the lack of talented teams in the SEC right now and very well may finish the season as the #1 team.
I think Duke is by far and away the best team, but one or two losses will put them behind the Gators for good (unless Florida slips up).

This is true, but Maryland has proven that the Cameron Crazies don't affect them nearly as much as they do other opposing teams.

I'll always bet against a team going undefeated until the NCAA Tourney.

oh i would too. florida will probably trip up somewhere just because of how tough it is to run the table ...but they certainly won't be underdogs in any game.

Right. I think they'll lose 3-5 games. just based on them playing Okay one night and the other team playing flawless.
