Bills at number 6, c'mon now we all know we have had much more misery than that. Cleveland is good at number 1, then it should be Buffalo.

Very much agreed. It hurts to be a Bills fan.

i find one flaw. you can't compare the new orleans fan base with that of say philly. i can't name one saints fan, whereas philly fans are all over and diehard. i think passion for a team magnifies the pain failure causes. all things equal and inside a vacuum, this list works. but when you actually factor in how much the fans care and support, live and die for the team, certain teams should be reversed in my opinion.

We need Wayne Fontes back in Detroit.

i think the pats should be a little lower than 31st ..maybe like mid 20s. Yeah we've got our titles lately ...but we SUCKED for so long. Cowboys, 49ers, Packers, Steelers, and Broncos fans have had it far better.

Hahahahaha
Hopefully with nine NBA titles, three Super Bowl titles, three Stanley Cup championships and now a World Series within the lifetimes of most New Englanders, Boston fans will finally quit plaguing us with their "No One Has Ever Suffered Like Us" bull.
That is dead on. The focus of this is about 1/3 past woe and about 2/3 present and future woe. You guys are coming off 3 out of 4 championships and you are looking like you have a chance to win another this year. Even if you don't, you have a team that for the next 4-5 years can still compete on that level. 49ers fans are far, far worse off than you, likewise with the Packers.
And the Browns, well they let their team leave and it won a Super Bowl, so yeah, they have to be #1.
It was like having someone take your Jim Brown throwback jersey and giving you a Jeff Garcia giveaway T-shirt in return.
Haha, so true

haha ..im not doubting that we've got it made right now. i am extremely lucky to be only 20 years old and have seen the pats win 3 super bowls and the sox win a world series ...but this is about the patriots solely ..and when you take into account our history (which before the last 4 seasons was shit with the exception of 85 and 96), theres no way the cowboys are the only franchise who have had it better. the author constructing that misery thing must be heavily weighted in the present. the broncos, 49ers, steelers, packers, and cowboys have all had far more success over their franchises history.
i dont really care because its just a stupid article ...i'm just making a case for why we shouldnt be 31st out of 32. I'd put the Pats 27th.

uhhhh
9 NBA titles huh?
more like 3 in the 80s, 2 in the 70s and the rest in the 50s and 60s, but okay.

That, I will agree with, especially since the teams in the 10-20 range seem like some weak cases made.

Yeah, I noticed the Celtics weren't THAT great to have won 9 in the eighties, but I went with what the article said because I didn't feel like looking it up. Even when the Pats were low though, you had the Bruins (Borque, etc) and the Celtics playing well. Up until the last year or so, the Celtics were still pretty good with Pierce and Walker.
Oh, and I just remembered, even though this is a stretch, UMass was nasty for some years in that span too, especially during the Marcus Camby stretch. Whatever happened to them?

the bruins didnt win no stanley cup with bourque and made the finals with him only twice, losing to the oilers both time. that was in the 80s, however. the bruins havent made it to the finals since then. the last cup brought to boston was with bobby orr flying through the air.
and the Celtics playing well. Up until the last year or so, the Celtics were still pretty good with Pierce and Walker.
myth
the celtics last season captured their first division title since 93. we made the eastern conference finals in 01 but lost to the nets. the 90s were an AWFUL time for the celtics because len bias was drafted in 87 and died the next day and ruined our franchises future. then we had reggie lewis and things were on the up and up... and then he died.
