Recent Polyvinyl (https://www.polyvinylrecords.com/index.asp) signings The M's (http://www.the-ms.com/splash.html) will be releasing their sophomore album Future Women on February 21st.
In just a few short years, The M’s have already earned a status in the Chicago scene primarily reserved for bands with 10 or more years of history. This reverence led to a residency at the esteemed Schuba’s Tavern venue, a spot alongside The Decemberists and Les Savy Fav at Pitchfork’s inaugural Intonation Fest and a tour with windy-city mainstays Wilco. The M’s have also played alongside or toured with Broken Social Scene, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The French Kicks, Spoon, Stars, Stephen Malkmus, The Walkmen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more. Out 2/21, Future Women is the far-reaching and ambitious sophomore effort from The M’s. Gorgeous, sweeping three-part harmonies punctuate Future Women recollecting fuzzed out 60s-era Britpop and 70s-era T. Rex cut and re-formed with a glimpse toward the future. Look for them on the road this Spring with Archer Prewitt, of Montreal, and a blow-out at this years SXSW.
