i've now heard his comments and i think the group calling for him to resign needs to jump off a fucking bridge. i don't know if they've been at a major football school over the past few years, but what he said was just an understated version of the truth. it makes me sick that he's even having to deal with this after what he just did this year.

im just paraphasing what i heard on espn so someone feel free to correct me:

when someone made a comment to him about a Florida state player being charged with sexual harrassment..or something like that, he said "well *blah blah blah* what would you do if a cute girl was at your door?" or something to that effect. so these people are bitching saying hes sexist.

yeah sorry its not more detailed.

A day before the Orange Bowl, Paterno was asked about Nicholson and replied by talking about past suspensions of Penn State players. He then added: "There's some tough -- there's so many people gravitating to these kids. He may not have even known what he was getting into, Nicholson. They knock on the door; somebody may knock on the door; a cute girl knocks on the door. What do you do?

"But that's too bad. You hate to see that. I really do. You like to see a kid end up his football career. He's a heck of a football player, by the way; he's a really good football player. And it's just too bad."

Oh yeah, I saw that quote, and I agree with what was said above, its just the reality of tdoay, especially for someone who is a star football player at a major D-1 college.

Stupid groups, foolish complaints like this lower their credibility when a real issue comes around

i think when organizations try to govern and ask for people to step down in the sports world, they just come off as petty and ridiculous. Thus, doing nothing to further the mission of their organizations. I think they should just shut up.
