Below is a message from Equal Vision (http://www.equalvision.com) regarding their new "partnership" with Jonah Matranga (http://www.jonahmatranga.com) (Gratitude/OneLineDrawing). The first release to come out of this "partnership" will be Jonah's CD/DVD, There's A Lot In Here, which is in stores February 21st.
Equal Vision is proud announce that we will be working with Jonah Matranga in 2006! You may know Jonah from his previous work in Far, Onlinedrawing, New End Original, and Gratitude.
In addition to the bands he's been in, for the last 10 years, Jonah has recorded music by himself and released it through his own website. Equal Vision has always loved Jonah's work, and so when he called us up to talk about working together, everyone thought it was a great idea.
The first release for Jonah's partnership with Equal Vision is his CD/DVD "There's A Lot In Here," in stores February 21st.
The 2-Disc Set features a CD and a DVD. The CD contains some of his greatest songs, recorded live, all on one CD. The DVD features two live shows (one in a living room, one in a rock club) and 11 videos (with optional commentary by Jonah) by director XDOANEX, one for each song off of the excellent Onelinedrawing album The Volunteers. It's a great, intense release from one of the most influential artists out there, and Equal Vision is proud to be a par of it.

What does this exactly mean? They will be releasing some of his stuff by not signing him to the label?
Who else is on the new Equal Vision sub-label? Do they have a web page yet?

does anybody remember when you would send him a blank tape and tell him what songs to put on it and he would play those songs and sent it back to you for like 10 bucks. it was a while ago, but something along those lines.

it didn't work exactly like that, it was more along the lines of you ask him to record certain songs and give suggestions on if you want it all acoustic, or maybe acapella or whatever and he would record them and you would discuss a price...i'm pretty sure it would come out to more than $10 in any case, however

Fucking shit. I bought this from Jonah on his website and it didnt come with a CD, just a dvd. Though something tells me if I e-mail him and vent about it he would send me the cd for free or cheap. Once at a show I complained that I bought the Gratitude cd the day it came out and they were giving away free DVDs with the cd sold at shows, so he gave me one anyway but no one else. I would marry him if I were gay and he would have me.

absolutly amazing. everything he touches turns to gold, no matter what people say.
he is such a kind hearted person. he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
one of the few artists / musicians that truly loves what he is doing, and constantly grows not only as a person but as an artist.
i fucked him
