he's playing pretty well right now. He produces solid numbers in a few categories and he leads the team in fg%. He contributes, but I wouldn't call him that great of an NBA basketball player quite yet.

he makes big plays when it matters and he's only in his second year, he's improving every game he plays and he has an incredible knack for grabbing rebounds and getting big blocks for being a 6'4" point guard.

why? he was terrible. with him out it means more minutes for greene, west, allen and banks.

that was last year. he was pretty awful this year, which is why he didn't start.

that was last year. he was pretty awful this year, which is why he didn't start. it because he never got a real chance to play. dickau is a player that if he plays consistantly he will get better and better which was proven last year. For some reason doc rivers never gave dickau much playing time to do so. I believe dickau can be a very solid player and hope he gets a chance to prove it somewhere next year other than boston

he got, and lost, his chance to play in the preseason where he proved he couldnt guard ANYONE.

end of story.

west is a medi-core player...

as for dickau, we've had this discussion...we all stand firm on what we believe with him.

and as for fact...dickau was brought in as a reserve...he started two games in the preseason, and actually delonte was named the starter prior to the season, as a favorite of doc rivers. dickau was not given a chance in the preseason. end of story.

go to nba.com and read the boston celtics preview. word for word it says 'we'll give the nod to west, who's like more by the coaching staff'. with dickau being the second option.

WEST GETS FIRST SHOT AT BEING POINT MAN
Published on October 12, 2005

PITTSBURGH -- Somehow, the official announcement that Delonte West would start at point guard before the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Celtics, 96-86, in last night's exhibition opener at Mellon Arena lacked the expected pomp and circumstance. There were no trumpeters outside the Celtics locker room. After all, the point guard rotation has been hyped as the great mystery of training camp 2005.
Rivers further diminished the significance of the move by announcing that Dan Dickau would start the second game of the Celtic's preseason.

dickau lost his spot, theres no doubt about that. he didnt show anything when he was on the court. i don't think delonte west is the answer ..but he's miles ahead of dickau in the PG department.

Delonte West plays the better end of basketball on a dissapointing team. he's been impressive lately, but im not convinced otherwise.
