well i worked setting the store up tonight here in atlanta. as some of you know i got a new job as an assitant mgr at a pretty cool store, but neways, my bosses father in law is pete babcock, former general manager of the hawks, current director of basketball operations for the raptors...his brother is the GM for the raps, rob babcock...anywho, pete was at the store tonight helping us get ready for the opening. i asked him some diff questions about rumors around the nba...and like he said 'rumors are rumors, they're everywhere, and dont believe anything until it happens'. but i still can't help but tell you guys some of these.

mike james, who's having a phenomenal season for the raps, is at his highest value he could possibly reach. alot of teams have inquired about him. two most intriguing offers have been jason williams and a second rounder for james, and brevin knight and a seconrd rounder for james.

the artest situation is getting crazy. the raptors made an offer of morris peterson, mike james, and their first round pick in the draft this year for artest. but the front runners now are the warriors and wolves.

paul pierce is being shopped. one offer that stuck out to me was Pierce for marvin williams, salim stoudamire, and the hawks trade exception.

jay williams will re surface in the nba this season, probably with a playoff contender. other players you shouldnt be suprised if you see after the all star break, glenn robinson, latrell sprewell, shawn kemp and a couple of others.

patrick ewing ALMOST signed a 10 day contract with the rockets last week to fill their void at center. he's a bench coach for them as of right now, but didnt feel he was in top shape to perform.

also dont be suprised if you see odom, boozer, randolph, antonio daniels, pierce, mark blount, jr smith, steve francis, and a few other players in different uniforms by seasons end.

on an end note. im going to the university of georgia vs kentuky basketball game this tuesday with my boss, pete and rob...they're going to scout someone...i think it's rondo from ky, but im not sure. itll be my first time talking with rob...so ill be sure to give you guys some more raunchy info next week. also, he may be bringing me some shorts, and i told my boss i wanted a bosh game used jersey haha. we'll see if he comes through. keep your fingers crossed.

You are a very lucky man sir. The wolves really need to make a move to get artest. They are falling all over the place. I heard the pacers want Sczerbiak for artest, straight up. They have about even ppg, and with artest's defense, some of our close losses would have gone the other way. I just don't see whats taking so long to pull the trigger. Damn Kevin Mchale, grow some balls. Our season is slipping away. We're currently 10th in playoff contention.

Regardless... that's awesome Caleb. So you're the next GM of the Raptors?

Wow, Shawn Kemp?
What would posses Patric Ewing to even think about coming back?

was patrick ewing even in shape for the last 3 years of his career?
And shawn kemp coming back wouldn't surprise me. He does have a family about half the size of the entire nation of Ghana to look after.

I don't even think he was close to in shape, and wasn't that mid-late 90's

im not surprised that Indiana hasn't moved artest. it seems the offers are getting better. i wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a trade deadline shipment. he is on my fantasy team however, so the sooner the better.

shawn kemp is back into playing shape suprisingly...and he's in sonic form...not magic form. he's 36 year old now, and i think he could give a team 10 and 10 a night...IF he's really back into his old form.

pierce for ron ron, straight up!

that'd be a good trade for both sides...although the celtics would get a MUCH better deal. what if it was mark blount and pierce for artest and croshere...

its STILL a better deal for boston

getting rid of mark blount should warrant a parade down boylston street.
