Chino Moreno (Deftones/Team Sleep) will be producing some songs on Dead Poetic (www.deadpoetic.com)'s new album. Read a message from the band below for more details.

Chino Moreno to Produce Songs on New Album! | January 12th 2006
We are extremely excited to announce that Deftones/Team Sleep frontman Chino Moreno will be producing a few songs on our upcoming album. We are huge fans of Chino and his work, and are ecstatic to have this opportunity to work with him. We will be spending 4-5 days in Sacramento in late January to record songs with Chino, and will then head straight to Seattle to record the bulk of the album with producer Aaron Sprinkle.

We will be sure to keep you posted with videos, photos, and journal entries documenting our studio time. We are very excited about 2006, and can not wait for you all to hear the new record!

Haha I love Chino's work and his voice. Hopefully he can inject some innovativeness into Dead Poetic's work since they've seemed to be lacking in that category with their releases. The occasional good song here and there doesn't cut it.

Also, in the chance that he does lend his vocals to a track, I'm not sure how it'd sound with Dead Poetic's sound. All I know is this: He sounded god awful and disappointing in his live appearance with Thrice. But then again, I suppose that's because Dustin's distinct voice dominates throughout their general sound...so an injection of quite a different voice just did NOT sound right. So it's hard to judge how it'd sound if Chino lends vocals to DP, a band with a much different sound than Thrice.

On the subject of guest vocals and Thrice, I really would like to one day hear the song Kristen from Veda did guest vocals on during the Vheissu recording sessions. The track was scratched entirely from the album, but I would kill to hear those rough demos.

After you saw the real world you got all into them and now you think you're "scene."

For the record, bashing a great band like Watashi wa/Eager seas is not a very good way to make a first impression.

There's a difference between horrible lyrics and decent/tolerable (cartel, anberlin). I've never heard a pop-punk band with "epic" lyrics, I just demand music that stands out from the norm. Day at the Fair fails miserably at that, as does Punchline, a band that I've just never understood their appeal.

I disagree, respect is implied, and disrespect is earned, people (and their opinions) should always be treated with respect unless they say or do something to warrant otherwise. Don't come into these forums acting like your music taste is better than anybody elses... this isn't fucking Pitchfork or PunkNews.org and elitist pricks aren't welcomed. People can't help what they like, some people enjoy certain things better than others, it's impossible for a a taste or feeling to be "better" or "worse" than someone else's. I can't believe I'm actually explaining this to you, are you ten?

yeah, but just like you said you personally think Haste the Day is terrible, he can provide an opinion on how he thinks Slade's taste in music sucks, and I can say how much I hate the new Day at the Fair CD...it's all opinons, even if there's no respect shown.

You can't have an opinion on an opinion, that doesn't even make sense. It's like me saying to you, "In my opinion, your opinions on religion suck"... it's as good as me saying you're an idiot for being a Christian...

He never said..."Slade, I don't like Mae or SKSK, but I do like Haste The Day"... he told him "you have no ear"... which is a flat out insult. Why does he have to take a personal shot at someone for thinking differently about a band/music than he does?

How can 2 people have different opinions then if they don't disagree about each others? Obviously someone has to disagree with the other ones opinion in order to debate why or why not.....you can still have respect and do it intelligently

It's an opinion an an approach/plan... that's completely different, but you do have a valid point. But this kid didn't say what he said in opinion form, he said "you have no ear" which is as good as stating his opinions as fact. You're telling me it's justified if I said to you "Scott, I think you have absolutely no common sense or logic skills for devoting your life to jesus". That's completely 100% wrong and I would NEVER EVER EVER do it, I would, however say "I personally don't believe in Christianity" and state reasons why I don't. I think stating an opinion on somebody else's personal feelings (especially in factual form) only leads to insults, criticism and negativity, just state your feelings on an issue and keep the personal jabs out of it. There's absolutely no reason at all to make a comment like "you have no ear".

I would defend myself, but that's something I've heard many people say to me before, so I don't see how having an opinion on an opinion is impossible, like you're debating. Listen to David Cross's standup comedy. That's pretty much all it is, it's shitting all over other people's opinions, and it's hilarious. Is it appropriate? In many cases, no. But when used for humor in real life or entertainment on a message board...it's another thing. And it hasn't even been extreme. But it does exist, and this is a situation in which it does, and it's a message board about music, not religious/lifestyle choice.

Also, using President Bush as an example is very poor, because his opinions affect all of us directly. Slade's opinions on Deftones or Mae do not affect us in any way.

But anyway, I don't agree with Bush's views in Iraq, however, I would never say "Bush is an idiot for taking us to war"... degrading a person for believing something different than me is something I refuse to do...
