Doctors say it might be. That would be a shame because he seems like a good guy and he has a chance to be one of the best for a long time.

Maybe...he took a pretty bad blow.

He certainly won't be as mobile as he would like to be ever again.

Good point.

He had a sensational comeback after a devastating knee blow-out

"On a scale of one to three, it was a four," he said. "It was off the chart. It was pretty badly damaged -- shredded is the better term."

wow, that's terrible, i had no idea it was that bad, it didn't look all that worse than any other such tears.

I guess looks are deceiving, because McGahee's was the most brutal knee blowout I've ever seen, and look at him now.

We love this guy in Cincinnati, if he's done that's really sad.

what i got from the article was that it could have been career ending, but the surgery went well and he'll be back just fine next year.
on the other hand, anytime this happens, ANOTHER injury will probably end his career, and that'll just suck for football in general, whether you like the bengals or not, he's a great talent.

As a Steeler fan, I too am very sorry to see this. The Ravens have decided to suck and The Palmer/Rothlisberger battle was just beginning...

If his career is over. They're will be no nail biters in The AFC North, come next year.

yeah i dont even like the bengals but this would be such shit for a fanbase that has SUFFERED over the years.

Even if you aren't a Bengals fan, this is still terrible to see. You never want to see this happen to anyone unless it's T.O.

i hope von olhoffen takes care of him in the offseason for a cheapshot like that.

If by cheap shot, you mean accident that Carson Palmer admitted wasn't "cheap", sure

And if by a-hole, you mean you are an idiot, sure

Man I kind of feel bad about my sig now.

But not bad enough to take it out.

He'll be back. It just depends on how long. And being less mobile isn't going to hurt his game much... he was never that mobile to begin with.

But if he doesn't ... I'm definitely gonna contemplate suicide. And I'm definitely not kidding.

moron. wasn't a cheap shot. he was blocked into his knee. you're a douche.

and i think palmer will be back. football is this guys life. with knees, the first reaction is always that it could be career ending, but these guys bust their ass and rehab the hell out of it and end up back. it may be a few weeks into the season before he's ready, but as long as he doesn't rush back, he'll be fine. but i definetly think he'll be back.

he's more mobile than people think, because he doesn't use it. he prefers to stay in the pocket. so i don't see this effecting his play too much.

just sucks. i don't wanna see anybody in this kind of position.

You seem to know Mr.Palmer's biography.

Write a book.

But I do agree with you. It does suck for anyone to be injured that bad. I feel for the guy, and wish him well.

I'm sure somewhere in Cinncinnati someone is printing "F*CK KIMO!" t-shirts, and they will make millions.

I loved this guy at USC and liked him on the Bengals...hope he can recover from this.

I remember him jumping and flipping over the goal line against UCLA at the Rose Bowl and I immediately thought he was gangsta.

He'll probably be like Dan Marino was after his major injuries. Not a major blow to his career at all, just no mobility to use. Marino's numbers went down because he was getting older, not just because of the injury.

Tonight on Sportscenter, Palmer's surgeon said that his comment was taken out of context, he meant that most players that suffer the injury can be career ending. He said that in Palmer's case, he should make a full recovery before the next season.

Yeah, I was confused, because everything I had heard prior to this was that it was "partial tearing", and that brace may have saved him his career.

Glad to hear he should be coming back good for next year, even though they are the Steelers rivals, I like Chad and Carson.

Essentially, it was a good play, the guy didnt give up on the play.

When they said torn ACL though I said uh oh.

first of all, hell no it wasn't a cheap shot, if it was from ike taylor or joey porter then maybe, but not kimo

so carson was wearing a knee brace and that made for a cleaner tear... did he have previous serious knree problems?

i sure hope he gets back up to speed for next year... he seems like a good guy and, as much as it hurts to say this being a steelers fan, he is really fun to watch and it making the pittsburgh-cincinatti rivalry interesting for once- we can't even call em the 'bungles' any more!

he sprained his knee at the end of the 2004 season. not that serious.

If Culpepper can come back from tearing every ligament in his knee, i see no reason why Palmer shouldn't be able to return.

and i hope he does, because that's shitty. with all the qb's they've had no work out, he was the one.
Unfortunate. but that's football.

i just read this article and was about to make the exact same thread with the same name. I feel like Carson shouldn't even try to come back next year...give it a full year of recovery. Normal ACL tears take normal people at least 8-9 months to recover. If he rushes back and hurts it again, his career is definitely over and he's fucked for life with that knee. I feel absolutely horrible for him.

I wish the best of luck for him because he deserves it

How is Ike Taylor a cheap shot artist? He makes a lot of solid tackles, because he's always getting beat for completions.

yeah, im not sure how ike taylor got lumped in with that. if anybody in their secondary takes a cheap shot, id have to say maybe chris hope. and thats a big maybe.
and now that i think about it, i dont even see how joey porters a cheap shot artist either. sure he's intense but i cant recall him ever playing dirty. (and if todd heap's name is even mentioned here im gonna flip out)

Joey Porter doesn't take cheap shots on the field, just during pre-game and with his mouth the week before the game.

yeah. that comment confused me too.

they're a tough, hard hitting defense.

but not cheap shotting.

In the article it says it could be career ending, then the next paragraph it says his doctor expects him to be back at the start of next season. Well which fucking one is it? If the doctor thinks he can be back at least for next season it isnt career ending. Slow news day for ESPN, Palmer will be back and continue to be a great QB in the NFL.

i feel horrible for him also ..i really like him because hes humble and seems like a good guy. he should take his time, because when he's 100% there are very few in the league above him at the QB position.
