i'm looking for newer bands that sound like they could have fit on a John Hughes movie soundtrack in the 80's.
M83 and Foxglove Hunt are good examples. anyone else?

another AP member just told me about this band called Plushgun. great new band with 80's roots.
John Hughes movies always had the best soundtracks. any other bands i should look up?

Why in the world would you want more present-day music like that? Just go back and get into some older bands of that era. The internet makes this easy.

Well, I honestly doubt you've heard all of the old ones, but even so you still want more of the same? Maybe it's time to broaden your musical horizons a bit.
In all honesty I cannot think of many current bands that pull of the 80s pop vibe effectively. I'm sure there's some out there, but I just haven't heard of them/don't care.

I really thought he was going to have to bump this thread on his own again a third time. It would have been great.
