Royal Pains

I searched but didn't find a thread for this new show...so hopefully I didn't just miss something.

Anyway, if you don't know, this is the newest addition to USA Network's lineup which includes others like Psych (a personal favorite) and Monk. I think it looks like a fun new show and hopefully it will be since I need some new stuff to watch this summer.

So what do you all think? It premieres next thursday at 10/9c if you want to check it out.

There will be an interview up with the show's star, Mark, in a few days too...I think...which gives more of an indepth look on the show and what's to come.

I'm going to watch a couple episodes and give it a chance solely for the fact that USA has been putting out awesome shows recently.

Oh yeah, I do like USA shows...mainly Psych as that's a personal favorite of mine off of any channel. It sounds like it'll only get better so I guess we'll see. I'm hoping.

Yeah, I think it'll only get better. The interview with Mark...link above somewhere...really shows some stuff we can expect to see and it sounds great.

It's definitely an amusing show though, I agree. Evan is hilarious.

I liked the main guy and his brother, liked the doctor chick and the girl he saved, even liked the two weird teenagers...but I HATED his assistant. That type of character is just annoying to me. Oh, I'm gonna have everything possible so that no matter what we come up against, I will be prepared to move the plot forward. But don't look at me like I'm just here for that, the brother has a slight crush on me and I have overbearing parents, so you should care about me!

I downloaded the pilot off itunes and thought it was a show worth watching. USA currently has a damn good lineup.

USA really does have some great shows. I'm very glad there is a channel that focuses on characters. Always the part of a show I care about the most.

really loved the premiere for this...the dialogue between the main character and the brother was hilarious...i'd come back every week just for that...and who's the girl who plays the assistant...shes not bad looking at all.

Definitely, right? That was one of the first things I loved about the show...Hank and Evan and their relationship.

Divya is the assistant. She's played by Reshma Shetty.

i'm into it, when i first saw the commercials i pretty much thought burn notice with a doctor. then, they ran the add with michael weston sending a package to the dr. and thought it was pretty appropriate. good show.

If any of you are lagging behind nows the time to catch up...after today's burn notice marathon you can catch the pilot at 10pm...and then you can catch the entire season up to now sunday at 230...

exactly one week until the second season premieres. might have to buy season one so I can get back on track with the series, it has been like 9 months since this show has been on. anxious to watch this show again!

at least this season is longer with 18 episodes, which means the season will go into September unless USA does what they did with Burn Notice last season, when they ran the show into August then showed the remaining episodes between January and March.

All I can say is that I'm excited for Evan and Divya to realize they love each other. Aside from that, this show is a tad formulaic for me. But, it's the summer and nothing else is on, so I'll be watching anyway.

I read this as snowing in Royal Pains, haha. I really, really liked the season finale. This better not be the last of Henry Winkler.
