Jimmy Eat World (http://www.jimmyeatworld.com/) are currently at home working on their sixth full lengh album. An update from the band is below:
Hey everyone. We hope everyone had a great holiday season and a safe new years. We sure did. We are currenly at home in the Phoenix area working on new songs and getting ready to make what will be our 6th full length album. Everything is going very well and the new stuff appears to be pretty rocking. Thanks to everyone who bought the new ep. we're really happy that those songs found a proper home together.
that's it for now. we'll check back in soon and let you know how the process is going.

If the material on this full length is half as good as "Disintegration", I'll be very satisfied.

the three new songs on the ep were actually reworks of really old songs they'd had from around the middle of the 1990s. I managed to get some of the bootlegs of the older versions ages ago when they were up on the jimmy eat world boards. It's amazing how they totally changed the lyrics, kept some of the music, and made them all sounding great. should be a good new lp although static prevails has always been my favourite im sure it will continue as the last record left off with the pop rock feel.

The EP was incredible, "Disentegration" is an amazing song.
I have trouble getting into "Static Prevails." Who's the other voice?

IT's Tom, the guy that stands to the right of Jim, (when your looking at them), I like the songs they sing and wish he'd sing more.
Awesome, one of my favorite bands ever. I notice new things every time I listen to Futures, I can't wait.

I do agree that disintegration is one of their best songs... but I think Closer is the best song on the EP.

This is great news, 2006 will be a great year for new music. Futures was my favorite album from 2004 and if these songs resemble anything off the new EP i'll be thrilled. I'm looking forward to this!!!

Awesome news! I agree with the guy who said they're the band of our generation. Amazingly beautiful music. All the time.
i guess christmas came a little early this year...or late, depending how you look at it.

I think you should adjust that to 28 and under. They are the last of a dying breed, not the leaders of a new generation. All of their peers (Get up Kids, Promise Ring, Mineral, Braid etc etc etc) have either broken up or started new bands. True, JEW kicked down the door for a ton of other bands with the release of Bleed American, but it wasn't their best album and the age ceiling certainly goes higher than 25.
