I'm going on a date this friday, and need some music that won't scare her when she is in my car. I don't know what to pick, so I'm hoping you come up with some good reccomendations.

Here's an eclectic selection of songs that will really impress her:

Bryan Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?
Jagged Edge - Let's Get Married (Remix) (Feat. Run DMC)
Edwin McCain - I'll Be
Shania Twain - From This Moment On (Feat. Bryan White)
Digital Underground - Tie the Knot

She says shes into almost everything except metalcore, so that leaves it open to alot of stuff.
I was thinking something like the weakerthans but I'm not sure...

I just listened to them, I don't get. it is is a Dashboard Confessional cover band?

The first song on their myspace sounds like the song from the spiderman soundtrack in a ton of spots.

I listened to The Format on my last date. Maybe some Something Corporate, if you're into that.

Haha That list definitely wouldn't scare her away or anything.

No it's one guy all of his songs are acoustic, he's not a cover artist, and no relation to spiderman

Arctic Monkeys my friend. Get "Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not".
Mad upbeat.

haha we did it as a joke to prove that anyone can write a pop-electronica record with cheesy lyrics, but if people like it, that's cool

I honestly think The Gaslight Anthem's last album The 59' Sound would be a safe bet. They're one of the upcoming bands being hyped right now and they have little wuss factor in their music....just a thought. If you are really worried about about it you can just turn on the radio station.

I haven't listened to the radio stations in about 5 years, I don't know what there is around here any more.

Put on what you actually like to listen to. Just like with every other aspect of your date, don't pretend to be someone you're not just to impress her, it will never end well.

The Format. It would initiate fun, summery conversations.
