I recently returned from this tour and it was great. Forgive Durden was on first. They performed four songs, all of which will be on their new album, Wonderland, coming out May 9th. Each song sounded amazing and more mature than their EP. I have no doubt that their new album will blow everyone away. They ended their set with a drum finale where each member pulled out drum sticks and played drums. Talking to them afterwards revealed that they are all great people too and appreciated their fans.
Small Towns Burn A Little Slower came on next. They played six songs total, and they sounded very tight. Though I had never been a big fan of their music (I had never given them a fair music) I now am.
The Audition played third. The audience went crazy for these guys. The crowd that had been motionless for the opening bands opened up to a full pit, which by the end of the night resulted in one fan breaking her wrist and another breaking his nose. The Audition played with tons of energy and sounded great.
June took the stage after them. Though I've seen them play better, they still sounded pretty good and played with a lot of energy tonight. Fans were singing along and everybody seemed to enjoy these guys.
Lastly was The Junior Varsity. To be fully honest, I've never been a huge fan of this band. However, Bloomington being their hometown, I believe I've seen them five times now, and this was their best performance yet. They sounded very together, which was a problem for them in past shows. Throughout their long set, fans were singing, dancing, screaming, taking pictures, and going nuts over the guys as always.
For $7 I couldn't have asked for a better show.
