What do you guys think were good movie adaptations of some books. Lately there've been a whole bunch. I've only read the Harry Potter series and of those I'd like to think that Goblet of Fire did a good job adapting the book. Along with it being the best in the Harry Potter series (both in the book and on the big screen)...I think the book and movie were pretty accurate...no big details were left out.
A friend of mine told me that the Narnia movie was the best and held true to the book word for word.

I really liked Fight Club, even though it's not as in depth as the book, because if it was as in depth, the movie would've been rated X or NC17.
I think that The DaVinci Code is going to be good.
There are probably more, i'm forgetting them though.

A Home at the End of the World and A Walk to Remeber, I thought were pretty good adaptations. If you want to talk about worst adaptations, I would say Michael Crichton's Timeline. It was such a great book, but a terrible movie

White Oleander was a good movie, but there is no director/etc that could ever recreate what Janet Fitch produced. She writes very well and from the standpoint of a poet and that's exactly how her novel reads, it flows like a poem. there are not enough words i can say about that book.
