View Full Version : The Broncos Are Favorites!

And the Broncos are now officially favorites for the Super Bowl win, their third Super-Bowl win since 1997 (matching the "dynasty" of the Patriots for the decade).

Yep.

Vegas oddsmakers said Denver would be favored in the Super Bowl against either of the NFC teams still in the hunt, Carolina or Seattle. "The Broncos have been flying under the radar the whole season, with the likes of the Colts out there, but now, they're looking better," said Jay Kornegay, who runs the sports book at the Las Vegas Hilton. The numbers: Denver is now the 3-to-2 favorite to win the Super Bowl. Seattle and Pittsburgh were both 5-to-2 and Carolina was 6-to-1.

hello mr. i've never posted on the sports forums until today. what do you know? please tell me how the seahawks are done against carolina. yes, since carolina allowed the bears' pathetic offense to score 21 points on them. also, seahawks don't stand a chance with the panthers flying across the country into seattle where the seahawks are undefeated this season, especially after the seahawks are coming off their first playoff win in 21 years....without their MVP running back. And Shaun Alexander will be healthy by Sunday. Yeah, you're absolutely right, seahawks don't stand a chance.....sarcasm

Alexander chokes; it's so obvious. I bet if he would have been in the whole game, Seattle would have lost. As for playing in Seattle, we ALL know Seattle hasn't played ANY good teams this year .. they had the easiest schedule in the entire NFL to get to where they are ... so you're argument is pretty shitty.

Did you see the way Alexander was running before he got hurt, tight and nervous. Just look at his numbers he has put up in the past in the playoffs to show he chokes. No if the Hawks want to win vs. Carolina they need Hassleback to win it for them, and that is a scary thought. I see a Panthers/Bronocs superbowl coming up.

can we just give it up for the state of pennsylvania. as much as i hate these teams I dont think one state has made it to so many AFC and NFC championship games. Even though they choke most of the time, think about it. In the past 10 years, the Steelers have been there at least 4 times and so have the Eagles. All hail Pennsylvania.

did you see the way he was running before that game? He got the rushing title, league MVP, and broke the single season TD record. For everyone who says "he chokes." you're all fucking retarded, yes, last year he fumbled in a crucial moment. But Darrell Jackson also dropped a few crucial passes. Did you see Darrell Jackson or Bobby Engram drop any passes? And it's extremely rare for Shaun Alexander to fumble. He's much better this year. Trust me, it won't happen again. I don't know if you got the memo, but this team has matured and isn't the same. We also hadn't won a playoff game in 21 years. We'd also never had an MVP, home field advantage, won 13 games, etc. If you guys are going to hold things against seattle that they're notorious for in the past, well then, the broncos should lose the super bowl cause they have lost the second most in NFL history. We also thought the Pats and Colts would be playing each other in the AFC championship. My point is, the broncs and panthers can suck my dick.

Regular season means shit, i think Manning proved that today. Show me what you can do in the playoffs, or dont even bother showing up. And i could care less what Darrell Jackson or Engram did,i dont think i even brought them up. Ok so you are basing your opinion solely on Alexander failing?

No Panther running back is going to blow the doors off the Seahawks with Foster and Davis injured..so..

you are basically just going on Hasselbeck vs. Delhomme... ?

How bad is foster hurt, i never saw what happened with that.

And i am not ruling out Alexander having a good game, the guy has it in him. But i am not going to count on it when everything in his post-season career points against him doing well.

While i think Hasselbeck and Delhomme are big parts of the game, obviosuly there are other factors, for example defense and other skill players. (aka steve smith, who i dont think Seattle can stop)

Seattle stopped Santana Moss and will have no reason not to employ the same tactics against Steve Smith. When he accounts for 220 yards receiving and 30 yards rushing...come on..Seattle knows what to plan for i think ;)

Foster has a high ankle sprain. Probably about a 4 week injury usually, at least that are the initial reports out of the Panther camp.

Other parts of the game are big, yes, like being in Seattle..12th man all that. Plus a Seattle D limiting Washington to 10 or Carolina "limiting" Chicago to 21...

Julius Peppers has an unreported shoulder injury too..that would be a huge blow to the Panthers.

tambo41187

Smith>Moss.

I think Carolina is just a far superior team than Washington, especially when it comes to offense and i was not impressed with how Seattle played. But Foster and Peppers would be huge losses, so who knows.

LeftWideOpen

I just can't see Delhomme and that offense keeping up with Seattle. After facing Washington's defense, Seattle is getting a break by playing Carolina. And personally, I just don't think Carolina brings much more to the table than Washington does offensively.

They are definitely, because now Carolina's rushing offense is severely depleted, which in turn can allow the Seahawks to leave only 3-4 people in the box and put 7-8 people in coverage to stop Smith. That will prove hard for Carolina's offense...but we will see.

Meanwhile the AFC's best team got eliminated by the #6 seed so that makes the AFC better. Seahawks are my pick to win this game but the panthers aren't the redskins.
Nick Goings will be starting, and while he's not stephen davis or deshaun foster, he does happen to hold the club record for most consecutive 100 games, so he's no chump. And will alexander be 100%? I honestly haven't heard. I heard he had a concussion and i'd find it hard to believe that any football related concussion is 100% gone after a week. How to be a newfound Seahawks critic:

1. seahawks had a weak schedule so that automatically makes them a weak team
2. seahawks got lucky last week against the redskins, even though I said they'd get smoked
3. did i mention easy schedule? good thing seattle controls the opponents they play
4. steve smith this, steve smith that, look at how good he is, one person will beat the hawks alone
5. even though alexander had one of the most statistically impressive RB seasons in recent history, he still sucks
6. alexander fumbled for the 2nd time in like 400 carries...in the rain, guess that means he sucks
7. alexander only carried for 9 yards, that means he sucks
8. alexander didn't play after suffering a concussion, guess that means he's a pussy
9. the hawks will lose to carolina just like they lost to washington...oh, wait

3. did i mention easy schedule? good thing seattle controls the opponents they play
4. steve smith this, steve smith that, look at how good he is, one person will beat the hawks alone
5. even though alexander had one of the most statistically impressive RB seasons in recent history, he still sucks
6. alexander fumbled for the 2nd time in like 400 carries...in the rain, guess that means he sucks
7. alexander only carried for 9 yards, that means he sucks
8. alexander didn't play after suffering a concussion, guess that means he's a pussy
9. the hawks will lose to carolina just like they lost to washington...oh, wait

can we just give it up for the state of pennsylvania. as much as i hate these teams I dont think one state has made it to so many AFC and NFC championship games. Even though they choke most of the time, think about it. In the past 10 years, the Steelers have been there at least 4 times and so have the Eagles. All hail Pennsylvania.

Don't forget about The McKeesport Tigers.

Best High School Football Team in the state!

I would like to say broncos are going to win, however I think Steelers will pull out another upset. Seattle will beat Carolina. Steelers > Seattle in the Bowl.
