Hey guys i need creative help.

These past few days i've been trying to come up with a good band name for my band. So far it hasn't worked out -__- Sooooo since i haven't had any luck maybe you guys will, just throw out some ideas and not insanely retarded ones lol. Thanks :-d

Trust me, it's tough. My band and I went through over a 100 ideas in the course of about 4 months trying to come up with a name. Names are the hardest part to come up with I think so take your time on it.

It's so amazingly difficult to come up with a good name. We started out as "steps of colour" then it became "stairs of colour" and then we figured out we were too lazy for 3 words so it became just "of colour".

I think how good your name is just depends on how good the band is.
Just about any great band's name would sound dumb if it was associated with a crappy band, and vice versa.

I like both Melody Calling and Handshakes to Heartbreaks. The latter kinda rolls off better, it's just got a few bigger words so you have to remember how well it sounds. Personally, I like a name that is shorter, sounds good, easy to remember, and is original.

I don't think it's a great name, but like others have said, the name doesn't make or break you.

A good band name =/= Good music. Remember that. Get your priorities in order. Stop shooting down a name all your band mates want and start writing good music.

As someone said before - typically, the band name wouldn't be good if it were attached to a shitty band and vice versa. The music is what makes or breaks a band, the band name matters far less.

Who gives a flying fuck what your band is called. Focus on whether or not the music you're making is any good. If you're spending more time trying to think of a band name then you are developing your music, you might as well just break up right now.

I always name my projects after song titles/lyrics. I write music under the moniker of Traffic Jam Parades right now (quote from a Cloud Cult song) and I'll be starting a new project called Goodbye, I when I get back to school in the fall (it's a mewithoutYou song title).
