I used to have a thread in this forum for free downloads that were provided by bands. It mysteriously disappeared in January and the "Free Music Friday" feature took its place on the front news page. That feature has been running for 4 months and can be found by doing a tag search for "Free Music Friday". The young newcomer-band „IntoXication“ was founded in April 2008 by the two 15-year-old members Johannes and Daniel from Bolzano who dedicated themselves to music in their basement. After some lineup changes regarding guitar and bass as well as vocals, the band finally found its best functioning constellation in spring 2009: Front lady Carolin Zeller (Caro) on the mic, Daniel Bachman (Dani) on lead guitar, Martin Mayr (Maddin, Chippi) on rhythm guitar, Johannes Oberkofler (Jotze) on drums and Christian Schwarz on bass guitar.

We saw Jason Tate's statement yesterday: "I am well aware that I'm going to be in the minority of my profession when I say this ... but I am starting to think all advances and promo copies should be abolished. Let's all get the music at the same time. Put the "professional" back on par with the "fan." The music industry is changing so slowly I feel like I'll be 60 before anything drastic (and real) happens.Someone shake it up."

Ha, I'd be surprised to find a single person except me liking those songs. I agree that his voice usage is rather unusual, but song 1 and 5 are still quite impressive for what pkthunder was able to achieve in "feeling" in those songs. Really liked those songs, but as I said I am probably very alone with that opinion :P

This is album probably managed to kick off Postal Service as my favorite album (which is even a somewhat similar music style, just softer). This album makes me unbelievably happy and makes me want to sing along and dance with others who like it.

Former thieves dont do anything for me, since its not my genre, but Stuedabakerbrown is quite neat. I like the vibrating voice, but the record reminds me more often than not of counting crows pop than alternative rock. Which isnt meant in a bad way, just an unusual track mix overall I guess. Will give it another listen later. Thanks for the link :)

They arent bad, but not terribly original either. Too bad, because the first song really shows some promise. Watching their recorded live performance on their MySpace, I got the impression that they still are missing a bit of self confidence to put out the best they have to offer. Who knows, they might be able to surprise me quite a bit on a follow up record.
