I saw a bit of it but had to leave about half way in. Its quite awesome, as expected.

It came out while I was in Paris this year and I almost went and saw it. Even though I don't speak any French. That's how bad I want to see it.

I loved Up more than any movie this year, but this movie is the only reason why I don't consider Up a total lock for Best Animated Feature. Miyazaki is as money in the bank as Pixar is. Can't wait.

Porco isn't that great in my opinion. Kind of boring. We watched it in Japanese class. My japanese teacher is a big fan of Miyazaki. We've watched Totoro, Naussicaa, Grave of Fireflies, Howl's Moving Castle, and Porco russo. Pretty awesome. :p

It was magical. I don't know what else to say. It's not often you get to see a hand-drawn animated film in the 21st century, not even Pixar can breathe this much life in their films.

My friends and I made the mistake of waiting to buy tickets for a 7 o'clock showing; it was sold out. For some reason some of us thought no one heard of Miyazaki. We ended up going to the 10 o'clock showing. The theatre we were at wasn't giving this movie a lot of spotlight (all was going to District 9), yet every showing was sold out.

That aside, I loved this movie. Very light hearted and adorable.

This was another good Miyazaki film, but a massive downgrade from his best work. The plot was a lot more rushed, the characters were a lot less developed, and the voice acting was significantly worse than his best stuff. I wasn't disappointed because it was still fun and Miyazaki's animation is so breathtaking, but I guess you just end up expecting more out of Miyazaki.

looking through this thread, i am obviously the minority here.... but this movie just didn't do it for me like some of his other films. The character of Ponyo kinda annoyed the hell out of me and thought the plot was pretty bland.
