Okay, I have my tenth grade finals next week and I have no idea how to study, honestly. Last year when I was a freshmen, I didn't and got all A's, but freshmen year is a joke. For normal school, I just look at my notes a little, but I honestly don't know what to do for this. Do i just look over my outlines my teachers gave me? They gave us notecards to write stuff on too and all finals are multiple choice. What do you think I should do? How do I focus.

Use the outlines that your teachers have given you and fill them in and write down important facts about each topic listed on the outline. Make flashcards for vocabulary. Go over your old tests, quizzes, classwork, and homework assignments. When you study, make sure that you are away from any distractions and tell yourself that you will not get up from where you are sitting until x time. You should fill in your outlines as soon as possible and then focus on studying them the night before the final.

Typically for finals I'll go over outlines & study guides that teachers have supplied. I'll also read through all my notes and go over tests. I usually don't go over quizzes and homework unless there is a concept that I don't understand and need to spend more time on (going over too much unnecessary information is not only inefficient, but sometimes overwhelming). Depending on the class I may also go over essays I've written. I usually do all of this the night before. The morning before the final (and usually for a few minutes leading up to it) I'll usually flip through the textbook (if one is supplied) or study guides/etc. (basically anything that has all the information I need in one place) one last time to make sure I understand all the information. My study habits tend to change a little bit from class to class, but the above can be applied to pretty much anything.
The most important thing is to relax and make sure you're feeling confident before the test. Good luck.

Use notecards with subjects have a lot of defining involved. For English, find the summaries of whatever you read this past semester. If your English exams require a lot of quote defining, etc., I would recommend looking over your annotations. Your easy subjects for finals are languages and mathematics because basically all of the skills you develop are built upon others. Good luck!
