I like how you preface it with "Canadian pop superstar" because otherwise we would confuse her with the angst filled sk8r girl who hates complications.

Actually, I would have preferred Kelly Clarkson over Avril. Since U Been Gone and all her other songs are pretty catchy. And she's hotter. Avril is like....i cant' even get started.

I wonder if your fans chant "US sucks" during the Olympics, too (not to mention during games the US weren't even in). I love how Canada allows Bertuzzi on their national team, yet Jack Johnson does something not half as bad as what Bertuzzi did and the fans give him shit everytime his stick comes 2 feet within the puck. I've really lost a lot of respect for the hockey fans of Canada.

Yeah well i don't really have an answer for that but for one thing you certainly can't lump all Canadian hockey fans together. I for one think Bertuzzi should still be suspended. All i can really think of is we're more passionate about hockey than we are about a lot of things and we drink a lot of beer at games. So maybe we're just drunk....... ;)

Even if Bertuzzi wasn't on the team, we'd have Crosby or someone else on to take the gold medals home

If a Canadian player did that in the US during the Olympic games or Junior World Championships or whatever else, I'm pretty sure they'd boo him too whenever he'd come near the puck.
And did the fans not cheer when Jack Johnson scored that goal on Russia (I think it was?)

Yeah, but we wouldn't have chanted "Canada sucks!" every game of the tournament or had our announcers tell viewers that games Canada won were just throw away games anyway. As for the fans cheering, I'm sure the American fans did. Judging by what I heard and saw on TV, not to mention reading Canadian news sites and message boards such as TSN, I would say the Canadians didn't even think the US belonged in the tournament, nevermind cheering on one of the player's goals. You do realize that the Canadians cheered on the Russians as if they were their own team, right? If not, I suggest getting a tape of that game and listening to the crowd.

Not asking you to change your mind. You're just ignorant, that's all.
Bertuzzi didn't mean to fuck the guy up, most people can take a punch. Granted, I'm not saying it was right, because it was a still a cheap shot.
Jack Johnson had no other intention but to hurt the player, after an empty net goal. Therefore, he is shit as far as I'm concerned. But why are you complaining, he got player of the game.

Wow, someone watches news shows and then repeats it as their own argument. I heard that Bertuzzi-Johnson comment just today on the sports network.
I watched the entire US-Russia game, and if you've watched any hockey news (TSN, the Score and Sportsnet all had segments on that exact story, regarding it as an embarrasement), columns(sports illustrated, and hockey news magazines for example), will agree that the booing was disgraceful, and I agree. You can't category everyone off of a damn sports network message board. That's like me saying American's are childish because of the crap posted on this site.
However, Johnson still deserved to be booed for the elbow. Regardless of what Bertuzzi did (in which I think he served his punishment, everything aside he is still an outstanding hockey player). Johnsons, as well as Bertuzzi's acts were both childish.
I can right out guarentee US would have shouted "Canada Sucks" if for example Steve Downie elbowed one of the American players after the game, had it been in the US. Remember what happened during the NHL playoffs last season? (03/04) The US crowd in New York even booed the Canadian national anthem.
That entire spew you wrote is bullshit.
(PS. whoever said they prefer Kelly Clarkson over Avril you must be insane. At least avril emerged with her own style rather than being cookie-cut from the american public and copying trends to sell records)

Honestly, I didn't read the rest of your post just for this comment. You should know what assumptions do... here are the facts:
1. I didn't watch TV today.
2. I didn't hear any comments from anyone - in or out of the media - aside from my buddy who I watched the game with live. Side note: He lived in Canada most of his life, played hockey for years in Manitoba, and was astonished and embarrased at how the fans and announcers were acting.
3. The World Juniors were held less than an hour away from where I live last year. My impressions of Canadian hockey fans were low to begin with after meeting and hearing things about how they were here. Not to mention, I work in an arena where Canadian teams and parents are at every weekend.
4. You're an asshole. Fuck off.
