So I was reading through the Fat site to see if they accept demos (don't laugh, you don't even know! :P).

http://www.fatwreck.com/community/faq

Here's what they say:

"Do you guys take demos? How does our band get on Fat?

Oh we get demos. Shitloads of them. Mike thinks it would be lame not to accept demos, but then again, he doesn’t have to listen to the fuckin’ things. If you must send us a demo, you should know that we will respond in time via email or through the post. Want some advice? Work on your songs, practice, and play shows. It takes years of hard work to be a band that people care about, and once you’re there, labels will know about you. Another thing, talent is not a requirement for Fat bands, but partying skills are.

So yes, we accept demos. Send them all here:

Asian Man Records ATTN: Mike
PO Box 35585
Monte Soreno, CA 95030"

My question is do you think that's a joke?

What does Mike Park of Asian Man have to do with screening demos for Fat?
Maybe he actually does? Or maybe that's a joke on Mike Park so he'll receive a bunch of shitty demos in the mail.

What do you guys think?

Maybe it's supposed to mean that if a small, unkown band is going to send a dmeo to fat, thay should try smaller "outlets" first.

It's a joke. But I'm sure Fat Wreck take demos, I have read an interview recently in which Fat Mike talked about what he likes to hear from a demo to make him want to sign a band. Just find their mail address and send it there.
