View Full Version : If NO pick Young...

Then the Titans are going to pick Leinart. With Norm Chow as OC with the Titans and Steve McNair to learn from, Leinart stands to become a much better QB then people can even imagine I think. I mean to play in basically the same offense as you did in college with all that success? And it is reasonable enough to imagine that NO will pick another athletic QB like Young.

i think it's completely possible. especially if they play college talent and he has the best players in the league on his team.

definitely. i don't think matt leinart will be horrible. i think he'll be very good. light years better than vince young.

i see it going opposite though.
i think new orleans will go with leinart, and young will go to the titans.

Saints are dumb if they pick what's probably a worse version of Aaron Brooks. I'd go with Leinart. If the Saints screw up, Titans should definitely take Leinart.

As long as GB drafts Hawk, I'll be happy.

But the Titans need an offensive line. They dink and dunk constantly to protect the QB from getting killed. Then again, there's questions about Leinart's arm strength.

It's a toss up right now. NO may be pressured to go with Young seeing as he is the popular pick among fans probably. Plus New Orleans has gone with athletic QB's before. Young may put more fans back in the stadium. And the idea of Young vs. Vick basically waters their mouth.

Let McNair stay for a year or two longer and build your line. Draft some skill players in 2nd round and see if you can even package a 1st round next year to trade up and get Lendale White.

D'Brickshaw Ferguson. He's from New York and is a proven big time tackle.

You don't like the combo of Chris Brown and Travis Henry? They also have Walter Payton's son on the team. I don't think RB is a need.

McNair, the Texans GM, just might shock everyone and draft Young. He is being a dumbass and listening to the Texas locals who want the Texans to pick Young.

YOUNG WILL BE A BUST. Mark my words. Leinart won't be bad in a few years I think. He'll be a version of Palmer I think. Not quite as good though.

I think they could use a big time RB. Remember when the Titans were at their best they had Eddie George pounding away. Lendale White can do that and has no previous injuries. If not trade up and pick up a WR like Hagan from AZ State.

Every time McNair is hurt Billy Volick shines. It is a shame that he got stuck behind such a big name quarterback because he has alot of talent.

I'd kick his ass if he did that to David Carr without ever getting an Offensive Line.

They could even use Volek as a trading tool. Thanks for bringing that up. If a team like maybe the Ravens are interested in Volek they can maybe send a 1st Round next year and Volek to Ravens for a 1st and 3 or 4th this year. That way they can pick up a RB or WR in the first round and a O-Lineman later on.

He's good enough to be a 3rd string RB

Kubiak is going to be the head coach, and he said he wants Bush. He can install the Denver offense to Houston, including the blocking schemes that help produce all those 1000 yard rushers. Bush will be good to go in that offense.

I've got to support my Fresno boys. If you can find his numbers I'd be interested in seeing them because everygame I remember him starting in he did pretty good.

last night it was on the news that he resigned. Partly because he didnt want to work with the new head coach, and mostly because he thought he was overlooked for the position and believes he can be a head coach somewhere else.

any team that still needs a coach is stupid if they don't throw him in the mix.

Agreed, I was really excited thinking about Bates working with Hawk, now Ted Thompson fucked that up. Man, if Thompson doesn't pick AJ Hawk in the draft, then the 2006 Packers season will already be considered a failure.

mike sherman should be the head coach for the packers. but whatever. ted thompson is a douchebag. Lets recap who he's let go/driven out: Mike Wahle, Marco Rivera, Mike Sherman, Jim Bates, and coming soon, Brett Favre.

theres no way hes going to want to come back for a variety of reasons. New coach, an unproven line, a potentially sketchy defense, a GM who apparently doesn't give a shit whether his hall of fame quarterback sticks around or not. Granted, this was a bad year for Brett, but for what was around him, it couldve been a lot worse. Plus the guy is in outstanding shape, the best hes been in since the super bowl years. Being a Packer fan shouldn't be this frustrating.

Chris Brown needs to avoid the turf toe and Travis Henry needs to avoid the weed.
I really want Calico to step up.

Ted and Brett need to have a good ol conversation about the future. Seriously, I think if the Pack can patch up the O-line with a decent FA pickup and maybe some help from the draft, they could contend for the playoffs. It all starts with the line, if they can block, then the run will produce and Favre can take over. Plus it'll help that Walker, Green, Franks, and Davenport will all be back (I know Green is a FA, but I don't see anyone signing him for the amount he think he is worth, so I see him back in GB). Plus, if we get Hawk, that adds a lot of speed and excitement to the D, and a surprisingly good linebacking group featuring Diggs and Barnett. I think if Ted plays his cards right (this is a huge IF btw), then the Pack can contend for the playoffs, I seriously believe it. Anyways, if we draft Hawk, I'm buying a GB Hawk jersey that same day.

I dont think Ted will talk to Brett though. I just get the impression Ted wants to clean house and have everything his way, and if that's the case, Aaron Rodgers will be the starting QB next year. Teddy doesn't believe in free agency because its too risky and he'd rather build through the draft, which could be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The defense is a big if with Bates gone, without him they were one of the worst in the league. I'm guessing Gado is going to be their feature back next season, which is fine, but that means Green is gone (fine by me with his off the field bullshit) and Davenport is a FA as well. Walker will be in a contract year so we can expect decent production from him, but maybe not if he doesn't have a QB to throw to him. Interesting how those two had their issues last year and how things change and Walker needs him now.
