this kid is fucking incredible. he's from the northwest suburbs of chicago and plays for glenbrook north. scheyer made 52 points against proviso west hs and lost.
but it was is more amazing is that he scored 21 points in 75 seconds or 1:15. five three pointers and six free throws. he is headed to duke and i am honestly glad he is going there, since then he wont be on Illinois.

But I can't argue with the fact that he chose Duke.

Reddick graduates and they pick up a younger version of him, just sick.
But, the best recruit coming out is still Greg Oden, the guys gonna shit on 6'11 centers in the college game like it's his job.
Also, since you were looking in that area, you seen Sherron Collins play at all, he is going to Kansas next year, I think scout.com has him as the #1 PG in the nation right now.

Bingo. Imagine LeBron and Kobe in college, even if its a year. It will make NBA defense better, since the college game revolves around it far more, and it will even give some teams a star player they would never have. Plus, since it is a throw away year for them, they can go to non powerhouse colleges (Ohio State isn't usually a first choice for a prospect) and make them a conteder if only for a year.

well, if Tracy McGrady had had another 20 seconds I would have given him a shot in that game last year, but yeah, that is ridiculous

but still, if he scores like 18 in a min. you may want to send someone out to tackle him or something.

The kid is legit. Another 2-3 years, Duke is going to be a national contender again.

Jon Scheyer put on the greatest performance in the 45-year history of the Proviso West tournament Wednesday night--and it wasn't enough.
Despite setting a single-game tournament record with 52 points, No. 1 Glenbrook North was upset by Proviso West 85-79 before a standing-room crowd of 4,300 that rose collectively and gave Scheyer a standing ovation after he fouled out with nine seconds left.
Glenbrook North (11-1) trailed 71-58 with 1 minute 24 seconds to go when Scheyer went on an amazing run with his future coach, Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, watching from press row.
Scheyer scored 21 points in 1:15--that's 75 seconds--hitting five three-pointers and six of seven free throws. His final three--from 28 feet--brought the Spartans within 81-79 with nine seconds left, but he fouled out trying for his third steal in that span. Scheyer was 6 of 8 from three-point range and 20 of 22 from the line.
"I just blocked out all the shots I had missed before and played with my heart," said Scheyer, who also eclipsed the tournament's career records for points, three-pointers and free throws. "I wasn't even thinking. But, it wasn't enough."
Glenbrook North had won 35 games in a row before Wednesday night. The last loss came to Evanston at last year's Proviso West tournament.
"No, I wasn't nervous," said Proviso West point guard Darius Watson. "I just tried to get the ball in the hands of our good free-throw shooters at the end."
Watson scored 12 of his 14 in the fourth quarter, including five in 3.5 seconds that provided a 76-69 lead with 46.3 seconds left. Dexter Strothers and Taurese Stinnett had 17 each.
Proviso West (11-2) will face No. 5 Homewood-Flossmoor (11-0) in Thursday's semifinals. H-F defeated Fenwick 47-43 behind Kevin Dillard's 17 points.
The other semifinal will pit No. 12 Von Steuben (6-2) against No. 8 St. Joseph (9-1), which needed a last-second 12-foot jump shot by Demetri McCamey to outlast No. 20 Julian 45-43.
"I've missed that shot so many times in practice," said McCamey, who had eight points, three assists and three steals. "But I knew it was going in for sure as soon as it left my hand."
Von Steuben played a slow-down game and still knocked off New Trier 42-29 as Trevor Dale scored 13 points.
Johnny Rosinski led New Trier (4-7) with 16.
