Im have'nt heard any good metalcore or hardcore in a while. I could use some recommendations.

Envy-doom metal with a touch of post rock, incredible stuff
Killing The Dream-probably the best band on deathwish right now, love it.
Aftershock-brutal Boston metal...adam d's old band, awesome.
countervail-good metal infused hardcore, these guys just got back together so check them out
embrace the end-this band just fucking rips.
Embrace Today-another metal infused hardcore band, not quite metal, not quite hardcore, definitely not full on metalcore

but I think when he says emo, it's mean "melodic". I kow that emo can mean fugazi, Taking Back Sunday, or Karate ... So that's not a good word to use for envy.

But i should ysi a envy album to let people judge by themselves.

I would say for "everyone", I associate emo, to Fugazi, Texas is the reason, Rites Of Springs, Chisel, ... But that's old school, you're right now emo, its Mineral and RIP-GUK.

That's why they broke up, because people associate them to TBS, and Hawthorne Heights. Hard for them :)
