"The Hollywood Reporter says that Universal Pictures has picked up the movie rights to the popular children's books series "Where's Waldo?" from Classic Media and is looking at making a live-action family film.
The book series was previously set up at Paramount and Nickelodeon, where John Schultz was attached to direct a script that had been worked on by screenwriters such as Adam Rifkin, Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.
The plot of that project revolved around Waldo, now 30, ending up traveling through time after accidentally activating a malfunctioning travel machine."
Well, it was bound to happen eventually... Discuss.

I remember the cartoon. That worked for a while I guess. Wonder if they'll have his dog, girlfriend (who looks and dresses just like him), the wizard, and his arch nemesis. Also wonder if he'll travel through time looking for impossibly hard to find books amongst crowds of thousands.

It would be cool if this could become the first truly interactive movie. Like people in the audience would have to find where Waldo is in order for the reel to advance.

That would be so cool. Although I don't really know if it would work or not.

I used to take the HTML to movie websites and make my own news. We used to prank my friend by making fake news articles about random movies coming out, one of them being a Where's Waldo? movie starring Micheal Keaton. If I would have known they were interested in it, I would have pitched my story a long time ago.
Where's Wally? is the original and clearly the best name. Stupid adaptations.
