So two of my best friends just got engaged this past weekend. I have been the source of their music since high school and we all have very similar tastes. They put me in charge of picking their wedding song to play to their first dance as a married couple. I have a couple ideas floating around, but I would love some help from you guys. It has to be something classy and a song they are able to dance too. If you have any suggestions that would be great, thanks. Some of their favorite bands are The Starting Line, Something Corporate, Jimmy Eat World, Augustana, Cartel, New Found Glory so anything around there. If you have been in a wedding before and know of a great song please leave a reply!!

They really want a punk song for their first song?
Wouldn't a more traditional wedding song be better for a first dance?
So Contagious- Acceptance
Inevitable- Anberlin
Walk With Me- Bedlight for Blue Eyes
First Day of My Life- Bright Eyes
Lindsay Quit Lollygagging (Acoustic)- Chiodos
Take My Breath Away- Copeland
The Fear You Won't Fall- Joshua Radin
Love- Matthew White (it would be a peppy first dance with this though, but it could be really cute)
Do You Realize?- The Reign of Kindo
Connect the Dots- The Spill Canvas
It's a start anyways. Hopefully that helps!
Also, just as an aside, I'm totally against the concept of "traditional" wedding songs. The song chosen should reflect the couple, and if it comes in the form of a "punk" song, then it comes in that form. Personally, I'd rather have something unique if it's meaningful.

Thanks guys some of these are really amazing songs. And yes they don't want a conventional wedding song, they want a unique song that fits them individually. That's how I would want it.

I always thought it would be nice to have Ben Harper's "When She Believes" as my wedding song. So i will recommend that.
Also love Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" - probably a more traditional one. Thats why I suggest the Ben Harper one.

We had Lovecats by The Cure, In This Together by Nine Inch Nails and I Want To Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler (from The Wedding Singer). The rest was just music we dug whether it's appropriate or not. Stinkfist by Tool is hardly wedding material, but my Mrs loves it so it got played.

the avett brothers - swept away (senimental version)
the avett brothers - a lover like you
however, i think the first one is way better. such a beautiful song. when i get married i'm going to try and convince my wife to make it our song.
This isn't exactly in the vein of the bands that you mentioned, but I'm going to have my mom sing "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain at my wedding (whenever the hell that is), and I don't even like country music.

Mariana's Trench - Beside You
Peter Gabriel - Book of Love
Um, that's probably not an appropriate wedding song, seeing as it's about death.
Haha. Good call, my man.
Bad Religion "Infected"
Say Anything "Alive With the Glory of Love"
I have to question these two choices a little bit. "Infected" is a little bit of a joke to me for a choice, and "Alive With The Glory of Love," though it's a great song and has a lot of feeling, is a little crude for a wedding, I think.
Does that seem like an odd first dance/wedding song to anyone else?
Yes.

I like
"Hold My Hand"-New Found Glory
'Remember to Breathe"-Dashboard Confessional
"Oh, It is love"-Hellogoodbye
And I agree with Stolen and Inevitable, I want Stolen to be mine since my boyfriend sings it to me.
