What's your favorite live album? Most live albums suck, but there are a few rare gems. Which are your favorites?
Jason Tate

Mine would be Morrissey's Live at Earl's Court with MXPX's At the Show being a close second.

I'll always be a sucker for Unplugged 2.0 by Dashboard Confessional, but the new Bright Eyes live release Motion Sickness is excellent. Morrisey's is killer too.

Oh fuck... The Get Up Kids' was awesome too!
I have a few bootleg Thursday albums that are INSANE. Same with AFI. Those would be the best.
As for official, full length album? I couldn't even guess.. a lot of good live EPs though from bands like Thrice, Thursday, AFI...

Glad to see No Use for a Name: Live in a Dive and Sublime: Stand by your Van mentioned
Two Fantastic Albums, amazing amazing amazing
But my favorite live cd of all Time would be
2 Skinnee J's: Return of the furious Dragon
God how I miss that band, plus I hold that cd in a special place in my heart as I was at Mississippi Night's standing next to the sound board and bootlegging the set myself. So it wins out over the other two as a pure sentimental favorite

I'm a live music junkee so, Jason Mraz-- Tonight, Not Again; Eric Clapton-- Unplugged; and MXPX-- At The Show all would probably land on my top 15 albums of all time, I can't pick a favorite cuz they're all pretty different.
Blink, Get Up Kids, Dashboard unplugged, and Sublime-- Stand By Your Van are all high quality too... The only Face To Face album I like is their live one, somethin about a good live album makes me respect a band 10x more than I normally would.

1. Wilco- Kicking Televison: Live From Chicago
2. Bright Eyes- Motion Sickness
and i want the strokes to record a live album because they are absolutely flawless live its almost disgusting
The Goo Goo Dolls "Live in Buffalo" is excellent, though I just got it yesterday.
MxPx and Blink are also exceptional.

1. The Juliana Theory - Live 10.13.2001 (this was released after Love, and my faith in them was renewed after I heard it)
followed by: Five Iron Frenzy - Proof That the Youth Are Revolting and Blink 182 - The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show (someone stepped on it years ago, I super-glued it back together... it still plays, but skips horribly the entire way through :'( )

I can't believe that Nirvana's Unplugged In New York has only been mentioned once. Amazing album.

The Juliana Theory (Live 10.13.2001), Green Day (Bullet In A Bible), and Wilco (Kicking Television). I generally don't like live albums, mostly because a lot of terrible acts put them out (especially as of late) or the quality is just awful.

Five Iron Frenzy- The last show in denver cd that came with "The End is Here"...the emotion at the end of that cd is amazing. and the crowd and reese singing for 8 mins amazing grace and silent night. puts chills in my spine
I really didn't like Morrissey's Live at Earl's Court. The sound is weird, and the setlist is spotty. I preferred the "Who Put the M in Manchester" DVD. Beethoven was Deaf was also great.

last time i checked, age had nothing to do with how well someone could sing. fun fact: frank sinatra was over 70 years old when he died and he could still sing better than anyone in any of the bands you listen to. clown.
anyway, best live albums for me would have to be:
