I like this piece. You have some really good images here. "the fates have cut the thread of thought" is one of my favorites. I have to say, the last two lines seem rather abrupt and choppy. It seems that as your lines get longer, the flow is smooth, but then you quickly jump back to the shorter line length. Also, check out your punctuation. The lack thereof was throwing me off as I was reading this piece.
