Chances are there's been a thread or two along the lines of this thread, but i'm looking for more acoustic music - preferably solo artists that play very intimate soul/pop kind of stuff

examples: Justin Nozuka, Aron Wright, Travis Bryant, etc.

He's a singer from UK who's kinda become popular through youtube. He was just in NYC for a few months trying to get his music out there...super good singer/guitar player.

Ima have to go with the Nick Drake suggestion. He really is amazing. BUT, you also need to check this girl out. Just found out about her from a friend. She actually reminds me of him a bit.

I do love a bit of Newton Faulkner too. He's not always acoustic and is arguably a bit "mainstream". Still, it's good stuff.

Denison Witmer, Good Old War, b-sides of The New Frontiers.
And Jon Foreman has some good solo stuff.

Anyone recommended Sunny Ledfurd yet?

He did a song called Time Bandit, that's how I found him, he's got a few decent songs.
